With a glut of fifth outfielders on the roster, the Brewers traded Chris Dickerson to the Yankees for pitcher Sergio Mitre. Mitre has to be considered a candidate to fill in as the fifth starter while Zack Greinke's ribs heal. The only candidate in camp who has even looked like a major league pitcher is Marco Estrada.

We needed a body, we got a body. Not sure why they didn't wait for him to get waived, but maybe Doug was worried there was a clamor for his services.

Cashman:  "Think he'll be OK out of the pen?"

Just checked.  Granderson is still up in the air.   I can't believe the Yanks will start the season with Jones, Gardner, Swisher in the OF with Justin Maxwell and/or Colin Curtis as 4th/5th OF.
