Flames Thread: Scoring is overrated Topic

Jeoprady....

Question: city where they worship their team over health workers and medical staff ,pregnant women ,babies ..vital integral part of society to be able to pass a rubber disc on a sheet of ice to entertain millions of Cowboys ,sheep farmers...jump to the front of the line boys

Answer: Calgary, home of the H1N1 Flames

do you think Dion and the boys signed a few autographs for all the people that really needed the shots? sorry about your 5 yr old on the respirator but do you know who i am..im a Flamer..move aside my wife ,kids, cousins are more important than you lowly fans

I heard that the Abbotsford Heat are drawing Flies, only training personnel and family in the stands lol..love it get that Cancer out of B.C. Asap

All the Flames did was jump the que.. no biggie... pro players do it for MRIs and surgeries all the time..

H1N1 was given to everybody at the time, blame Alberta Health if you think that is wrong, which I would agree

If my company offered me the opportunity to jump the que and get my H1N1 shot at the time, I would take it.... Now that there is a "shortage" concern, and the vaccine is being given to high risk people, the answer would be no

Of course I would have to care about the vaccine first... H1N1 is overblown media frenzy.. I am fine waiting till it is convenient to receive.

Now if they could create something to get rid of these damn crabs I keep getting from banging sheep, sign me up!!

Damn rights... chances of H1N1 killing me is very slim... and it would be worth it if it meant the Flames won!!

If its any consolation I got my H1N1 shot last Friday. Its bad press for the Flames, but I really do not have a problem with the players getting priority shots. The players are always in the public and always in close contact with each other (Randle don't go there). If the players were infected they could spread the disease very quickly to the public and infect way more people than the 50 or so people they bumped out of line.

where exactly do the Flames touch each other?

I disagree, the players have very little contact with the general public, they are sheltered from the public, young healthy guys getting the shot over seniors and babies just isnt right, prime example of the rich getting their way,i for one am not getting the shot and i dont expect to get infected, but im in contact with the public probably 20 times more than any NHL player everyday..its just spin doctoring the whole issue, the Flames should just tell it like it is,We are rich therefore we go to the front of the line, screw the rest of you,and yes we are more important than the general public who pay our salaries..by the way come out to our next game and pay $100,we may just mail in our effort..thats your gamble

That comment is false in this case since the lineups were full of this... lots of my coworkers got shots and they are perfectly healthy

In either case, nobody missed a flu shot cause the Flames got one.. it wasnt the Flames over somebody else.. since it was anybody and everybody could get the shot and there was no concern over any shortage, at least here in Alberta.. at that time.. hindsight is 20-20 and the whole program was completely mismanaged by the Alberta Government

Players shoot ahead of the lineups all the time for MRI's and what not.. dont know what the big deal is about a flu shot

Well McElhinney steals one for us... a little help with the absolute bogus call in OT... but, if Curtis didnt stand on his head, we were long out of that one.. good to see from the hard luck kid... hopefully he can play like that in the future when he is called upon for spot duty

who the hell wants the stupid vaccine anyways???

yeah nick, i'm glad to see curtis play so well. maybe we should give him more starts this year. try around twenty. give kipper enough rest that he's still able to go in the post season. and give curtis enough play time that he can take over if kipper isn't getting it done. :>

and that was a bad call, but in the refs defense, the player was actually across the blue line in his own zone when he threw the puck over the glass and skating backwards, though the puck wasn't over the line.

the big news from this game though. iggy with a huge game. two goals and an assist. is our leader back on track? if so, it bodes well for the team, as we were scoring without him. :>

it's my understanding that seniors are actually less likely to get the H1N1. a similar bug probably made the rounds when they were young.

Glencross is your leader

that was a misprint, but cmon, seriously this is purely a money issue, not that i care,im not getting the shot..money talks..i wish they just wouldnt sugar coat it and do the politician thing..makes everyone look stupid..more money you have the more preferential treatment you get..just be honest

GM is correct, a strain of H1N1 was around in the late 1940's early 1950's and most over 65 seniors have an immunity to the H1N1 virus strain...

oh, i'm not arguing that it isn't a money thing. people with money definitely get preferential treatment. but we are the ones that make these players stars. we're the ones that do care more about our hockey team than our neighbors.

also, as i haven't read the actual article, and skipped the chatting during the game tonight i could be wrong, but it sounds like the flames just moved up the line. instead of sitting around for eight hours and getting the shot later, they got it first thing before everyone else. if that is in fact the case, then it is a non issue. the fact that later they realized there was a shortage is irrelevant.

and don't worry delta. bobby lu will be back soon and you'll start losing again.
