Anyway, back to the point, a couple of users were saying IQ wasn't that important. That they won games using defenses with D/C IQ. So I found two similar players, on the same team playing similar minutes, where the results weren't the same. They just had wildly different IQ. Since I'm switching D and they will have similar IQ under that D, I just thought I would like to see if the results are as similar as the players when the IQs match up.
This is what I'm doing. Not sure why it matters to anyone. 2nd post in the thread clearly points out that it's a small sample size.
since it doesn't matter to anyone, why are you posting about it? Just delete the whole thread.

Why would I do that? You're more than welcome to NOT open it.

Seriously though, at least capture the data correctly.

What if both players play the same number of minutes before the O/D switch and RPG decreases for both players. How do you know that's not attributed to # of possessions per game decreasing? You don't.

Don't worry about it. Seriously, half a dozen threads were started here after I left yesterday. I think I opened one. It's a lot easier to NOT open/post.

It's an open forum, I can open any thread I want. But thank you for your permission not to.

Of course you can. But this one seems to disturb you. Do yourself a favor and save yourself some grief.

If someone does a forum search there was a coach named robotdevil that created a thread looking at the overall importance of IQ. He played a handful of seasons at D3. He only put practice minutes into player attributes and zero minutes into O/D. He had some monster teams that should have coasted to titles but he couldn't get out of the 2nd round of the tourney. I don't remember specifics within the thread but I'm sure there was some good info in there.

What grief? Watching you get your panties all bunched up?

I know you like to argue about nothing but, if you think my panties are bunched, you're sadly mistaken.

Oh hello Pot.

OK, you win. I don't have the time I had yesterday between 12:30-3. So, if you'd like, you can argue with yourself and recap why what I'm doing is terrible and stupid.

Woooo I win!

It's what you've all been waiting for. Switching O/D.

Jansen, playing at B-/B has played 497 minutes, 46 OREB, 143 REB
Tebo, playing at F/F has 423 min, 29/104.

Jansen is B-/C+
Tebo is C+/B-

Played 18 so I have at least 9 more.

There you have it folks....IQ does in fact help rebounding.
1/10/2018 8:57 AM
I think we need to wait until a few games are played at equal IQ to make that determination.
