SInce most teams haven't made their round two picks yet, please don't confuse the round two and round three assignments.

Only the partial part that he was on that team. If you load the team as a team in the draft center, it will only show those at bats or innings pitched.

Go to the draft center. In the upper middle of the page there are two drop down menus. Mine says "2015" and "Anaheim Angels" Right above the drop downs it says in pretty small print "Load all eligible players of a historical team"

If you drop that down you can change it to "1933" and " New York Yankees" and it will load the eligible 1933 New York Yankees. That's the easiest way to do the research. If you don't see it, ask.
First of all, I find that this method does not list all eligible options. The method above left out a couple of legit players when I tried "load all eligible players of a historical team". When I put the 1973 A's team and 1973 year in an empty draft center and look for full/partial it weeds out the duplicates as well as the full seasons that are assigned to the team but who would not have qualified if they only played for the given team (1973 Pat Bourque) who does not show up in either method.. However, a couple of legit backups that do not appear in the first method will show up this way (1973 Mike Hegan, Rich McKinney). In other cases, if there are more than 25 eligible players on a team, only 25 are listed and it seems to be the low priced scrubs, who have value in this league, that are omitted.

That said, I like the 1963 Washington Senators as a complement to vilefileman's 1973 A's. No cheap backup shortstop. Nobody has a batting average over 274. The 269 hitting outfielder costs almost 6 million. Only 1 decent pitcher but he gives up home runs. Not much help period.

Interesting calhoop.

I will have to do some research on this tonight. Seems like next time we do this league we'll need some standard way we all see the teams the same.

For this season the rule is however you look up a guy you can only use the at bats or innings pitched that he actually accumulated for that particular team.

I doublechecked on baseball reference to make sure McKinney and Hegan qualified with their A's only at bats and both do. The short cut just didn't catch them.

That's a shame that the shortcut doesn't catch everyone.

I think it's too late to set up a standard search method once the draft has started. We'll do that for sure next time.

For this time the rule is you draft the 1973 Mets you can use any WIS eligible player that has a position other than "utility" on your final roster that played for the 73 Mets and you can only use the at bats or innings that he accumulated on the 73 Mets.

You can just select any team and year in the "Util" slot on your hitters or SP/RP slot on your pitchers and view all the eligible players that way. DH only guys have to be searched for separately because of the way the ALL positions things works, though.

Yeah it's just that all the research I've done is using the shortcut. Not a big deal.

If DH or utility is your primary position, you aren't eligible in this league anyway.

I checked my 1933 Yankees by loading the players telling the search engine I wanted all players who played for the 33 Yankees. I got one extra player than when I loaded the whole team together.

It was Billy Werber with over 500 at bats at shortstop. But when I looked him up in baseball-reference.com, it turns out he got all but six of those at bats with the Red Sox so he is not eligible for my team. It's going to take me a bit of work checking out each team before we start the season. I'm going to ask everyone to post their final 25 man rosters on this thread so they can be checked before going into the league. Make sure everyone is using at lkeast six from each team and make sure each player is eligible.

Calhoop, I finally narrowed it down. In my research I was surprised to find how many truly bad teams there were in 1973. So many good choices. 1933 Giants are a good team Cal. Mel Ott, Bill Terry, Carl Hubbell and good depth in the pitching staff. Buuuuuuut, there are a few holes. Good hit, no field catcher and 3B. No hit, good field shortstop and 2B. The trouble was finding a way to give you little relief from your offense and fielding while offering no pitching choices. I think I've found that team and have gotten in the way-way-back machine to award you the 1923 Boston Red Sox. Good luck.

If you haven't gotten your third round screw assignment yet, don't worry. I will get them all out by late Friday (tonight) night.

Maddove's '53 Indians feature a strong infield (w great D), with 3B AL Rosen being one extraordinary presence. Lots of innings pitched, though no shutdown arms. So let's partner the '53 Indians with their 1973 version: best player is 3B Buddy Bell, who really doesn't hit much. In fact, the whole team is low OBP/low SLG. Also, the '73 Tribe offers lots of IP, but no shutdown arms or low WHIP performances. The 1973 Cleveland Indians are kinda like the '53 Indians, but without the good players.

We give rls1 the 1933 St. Louis Browns whose pitching staff rivals that of the Bad News Bears sans Amanda Whurlitzer.

Good Luck Buttermaker!

My favorite sports movie of all time, and who ever thought remaking it was a good idea. Worst remake of a great movie ever.

I'm gifting eman the 53 Pittsburgh Pirates. Generally, the pitching is crap. The offense is alright if you like platoons, which area generally too expensive to use as straight bench players.

So, they're overall not good, but it's ok, cuz they're not cheap either.

Hit me, oppo. I'm ready.
