My Jim Piersall had 36 2Bs

My Cobb only had 22 2B. He ended up disappointing for the $ and stats.

Mine won MVP. .930 OPS, 64 XBH and 20 + plays

Marinerrott's Cobb had 282 hits, 55 2B, and batted .401. Nice going, Dad!

In my league, the 5 Cy Young candidates were all 08 Addie Joss...4 of them had exactly a 1.00 WHIP

Are these play-in games counted as regular season games worth a point?

Somehow my 120mil team won 90 games and made the playoffs even though my Joss and Kershaw were both ranked 16th in the league respectively in ERA, my Furcal was 11th in OPS and I chose Lajoie when it seems consensus was Cobb as the pick. Very odd team.

Yeah, I think the $120M league shows us how much luck is actually involved in this game. So many teams have Cobb, Joss, and Kershaw and playing in the same parks yet those players end up with a large variance in stat lines. I know the idea is that whoever builds around those guys the best should win, but when 1 Cobb has an OPS .200 points better than another Cobb playing in the same stadium.... there's not much 'skill' that's gonna help you win.

True, but there can be other non-luck factors too. Ballpark, opposition pitching, division mates, etc. If you have Cobb and you're in a division stacked with lefty pitchers, or if you have Joss and you're in a division stacked with stud lefty non-HR hitters, that can have an impact. There's also the managing aspect. How are you using those players? Where are you batting Cobb in your order? How often is Joss pitching? Etc.

Finished in 21st place, and with only 2 playoff teams after losing a rough play-in game. It's going to be an uphill battle.

The division you draw is luck. And like I said, I dont think there too much you can do skill-wise if one guy is drastically outperforming another. Sure, it matters if you bat a guy 3rd or 5th but if 1 of them is drastically outperforming the other judging by OPS (in the same of similar stadium), then there's just not much you can do.

Yes.

The question now that the regular season is over, how many points will it take to make the Top 24? Last year, #24 had 559 points. I have a feeling that number will be about 10 points lower this year.

15 teams behind me have more playoff teams. It was a fun ride...
