I can actually pick here. NoComm999 has Gooden. 1984 is lowest year for him. So I can take a player from 1950's.
Next four after him are all at the extreme ends on both ends.

Back to Ashburn. Looking from the other side of his career, he began in 1948. All of the early year owners remaining could feasibly take a usable early Asbhburn season. So the Ashburn pick is still not confirmed for oldtimer59 yet. Feel free to remove your post if you like and I can treat it as a proxy just in case you are not around when it could become valid

I should have waited, but I have the Cobb and Sisler picks using 1922. If they want to downgrade a bit and take Ashburn, no worries here.

I'd wager a 6 pack of teams that I finish below both of you (and everyone else). Boxed myself in terribly with too many owners in the same range of years and not enough talent in those same years.....1962 Richie Ashburn would end up as my team MVP.
