I think in the pros the draft just continues, meaning the next teams can pick whenever. The skipped team jumps in and picks whenever they wake up. It rarely or almost never happens in the pros, but i think that is the rule.

I want clarification on being skipped. If A is up and doesn’t pick and it gets to B’s time slot and B picks, can C go ahead and pick or does C have to wait another 30 minutes for his time slot?
C can pick right after B picks, or at his time slot if B doesn't pick. Whenever A shows up he can pick right away. If 2 guys are picking at the same time for the same player, whichever one posts in this thread first gets the player.

I want to defend the ABA players. While the talent wasn't quite the same, when the players did move to the NBA they put up relatively the same numbers. Will Ferrell would have averaged 12 and 8.

The best three things about the ABA:

1) The San Antonio Spurs
2) the three point shot
3) Julius Erving’s hair

C can make his selection immediately after B makes his. No need to wait

Nah. The big stars were still very good, but none of them had as good stats in the NBA. Haywood never came close in the NBA to his great season in the ABA that I had for the 70s league. Gilmore, Erving, most of those guys did not dominate the NBA like they did in the ABA. Erving never averaged more than 8.5 rebs in the NBA after over 10.0 in every ABA season, incuding one where he was over 15.0 and another at like 12.7. He was also over 27 pts per game in every ABA season but down at 21.0 on his first NBA season and only once was over 25.0 in the NBA.

Gilmore was averaging 17 and 18 rebounds in the ABA but fell down to 13 right away in the NBA. The average player in the NBA was just like 20% better than the average ABA player, so the big stars just stood out more in the ABA.

Ok, Rolling the dice but taking these two gives me a better chance of getting what I need later I think.

This draft is like a chess game between one person in Missouri and another person in California and they are using the Pony Express to deliver each move.

Perfect analogy! Old time chess by mail that took months to play.

Savoy, can you leave your pick as a singular post please? When it's part of your board updates it gets deleted, this happened last draft too. The board updates are great, but when the pick post is removed it's confusing

Gotcha. I've been editing them and leaving just the pick part.

I'm gonna be gone Monday between 11 AM and like 6 PM ET if somebody else wants to keep track of picks then. I'll probably be able to check in once or twice during that time.
