Chewy you seem to place a certain value on fouls - what metric are you using when you consider them is it a per or just the counting stat or something cool and arcane like %s

also you nicked Zo for his TOs but he is a 13% for the season I am using - are you considering TOV or do you feel 13% is particularly high?
I look at FP48 to assess the fouls for players then look at the total fouls to ***** the overall team. I know the raw totals are flawed from shortened seasons but I need to quickly gauge it. Hopefully I’m not way off. This is a lot harder and time consuming than I expected.

and for TO’s, I look at TO% when I build my teams, but because the TO% is only visible in the draft center and not on any of the team pages, I am eyeballing the TO per 48 in relation to usage. All I said was Zo is not the cleanest. 13% is pretty good. I could have worded it using more positive language. Sorry.

3/16/2023 10:16 AM
For non PGs 13% is probably the line for me higher is a negative and lower is usually pretty good.
3/16/2023 10:57 AM
I think more in terms of usage - Rodman has some high TOVs but since he doesn't touch the ball much I'm not going to hold it against him

9)seapilots: Overall it looks like about 110 - 120 Usage% on the floor most of the time, Weighted EFG of about 57%, OReb roughly 40%, DReb roughly 92%, Ast roughly 61%, 69 weighted avg team defense, To’s are pretty good, and Fouls are below average. The concern is that the defense could be a little better and the fouls might be a little too high. I also think Jordan could have been your PG and didn’t need to also draft Lillard. Overall decent draft. I am giving you a chewy score of 66.

Michael Jordan

9

Reigning champ Michael Jordan. Nice pick! Great start by getting good EFG (55) from 33.7 usage with very clean efficiency and clean Fouls. 90 Def, good rebounding and assisting. I wish you would play him at PG though.

Damian Lillard

40

Damian Lillard went right about where recent ADP says he should be picked. I just don't like the fit. You could have had a nice rebounding advantage if Jordan was your point guard and then you could have drafted a different need. But there were literally no good big men at the time of your 2nd round pick unless you were going to reach. So perhaps the right move would have been to trade down and get more value in the 3/4/5 rounds.

Tree Rollins

57

Another reigning champ. Tree fouls a ton but that doesn't scare me. His 100 Def, good EFG, good Rebounding make up for it.

Montrezl Harrell

88

I like Montrezl Harrell as your SF. He shoots an elite EFG (61.7) from 23.5 usage efficiently but does foul quite a bit. The good Defense at multiple positions is nice too.

Troy Murphy

105

If you don't mind having Tree defend the PF with 94% effectiveness, you can easily swap and hide Murphy's poor Def(33). He provides great EFG (58) from 17% usage and good TO's. The DReb is elite (30.7) so he does have some good value.

Dale Davis

151

Dale Davis looks like he will backup Tree and Murphy at PF/C. Pretty good fit. Nice def (84), great EFG (56.8) fromonly 13.3 usage though. Fouls are a little too high to pair with Rollins.

Ja Morant

152

Aside from real life events, I like Ja. He shoots ok EFG (53) from 33.7 usage but has too many TO's. In this league, I like to see over 55 EFG for guys with usage 22 or higher.

8)riftonapple:Overall it looks like about 110 - 120 Usage% on the floor most of the time, Weighted EFG of about 56%, OReb roughly 35%, DReb roughly 93%, Ast roughly 69%, 72 weighted avg team defense, To’s are good, and Fouls are good. You have tremendous balance across the key categories, but the Rebounding could be a little higher. Overall good draft. I am giving you a chewy score of 69.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

8

Kareem was taken in a good spot. I would prefer Jordan. Kareem provides a ton of quality minutes with great EFG (57.6) from 29.1 usage with good efficiency. The Defense is good but Kareem has some better seasons for D and Rebounding.

Kyrie Irving

41

Kyrie is a nice player. He is very clean and provides really good EFG from 23.8 usage. The downside is that his minutes are a little light and his defense is just ok.

Marcus Camby

56

This Camby has 100 Def, great DReb, good assists from a big man, and pretty clean for a big man. I wonder if there is another season that gives you even better Rebounding while only compromising a little Defense.

Walt Frazier

89

So Walt is playing SG? That's fine but this is where his 11.1 DReb at SG is noticeable. Walt does provide elite Def (90), shoots a good EFG (53.4) from 22.7 usage . He may commit a few more TO's than I like, and assists are pretty good for a SG.

Brandon Clarke

104

Quality minute Brandon Clarke. Just 1461 minutes from a 5th rd pick. He's worth it. Super elite EFG from 18.7 usage, with efficient TO's. Defense is ok.

Andris Biedrins

153

Nice Rebounding and EFG, Fouls 6.1 P48.But fits well as a Camby backup.

George Hill

154

I think everyone who takes George Hill knows why. He has an ultra clean season with good EFG from 23.8 usage. The TO% is great but the A/T ratio is better.

7)ysw128: Overall it looks like about 110 - 120 Usage% on the floor most of the time, Weighted EFG of about 55%, OReb roughly 33%, DReb roughly 95%, Ast roughly 79%, 71 weighted avg team defense, To’s are good, and Fouls are good. The only concern is the Rebounding and the OReb could especially be a little higher. Overall good draft. I am giving you a chewy score of 69.

Shaquille O'Neal

7

Shaq is a great pick. A great EFG from tier 2 usage (31.2) while staying clean is nice. I like the Pnt production.

Luka Doncic

42

Luka has crazy TO's but the 55 EFG from 36 usage is nice. Defense is poor but can be hidden. Rebounding and assists are tremendous.

Donyell Marshall

55

Donyell Marshall is a good choice at SF. Good EFG from 19,7 usage with great Def, Clean To's and can defend 4 positions.

Andrew Bogut

90

I like Bogut too. Elite EFG from 12.5 usage, great Rebounding but does foul a bit. Good Defense.

Derek Harper

103

Despite what others say, other than his rebounding I love Derek Harper. THe A./T ratio is one of the best. Nice EFG from 19.6 usage too. Great Defense.

DeMarcus Cousins

161

Cousins has some nice stats, but just too many To's and fouls for my liking.

Derrick Rose

162

Rose fills a nice backup spot behind Harper.

6)longtallbrad: Overall it looks like about 105 - 115 Usage% on the floor most of the time, Weighted EFG of about 56%, OReb roughly 36%, DReb roughly 99%, Ast roughly 73%, 73 weighted avg team defense, To’s are too high, and Fouls are ok. The only concern is the TO’s. I think you have a good plan to have Howard be the primary scorer inside with Manu scoring from the perimeter. Overall good draft. I am giving you a chewy score of 69.

Dwight Howard

6

Nice Start with Dwight Howard. Elite EFG from 27.4 Usage with Great Rebounding and 100 Defense.

Jason Kidd

43

I like Jason Kidd's Assists, EFG, and Defense. He fills the PG spot nicely.

Manu Ginobili

54

Manu provides some nice scoring from the SG spot and can defend 3 positions.

Kyle Anderson

91

Kyle Anderson provides some sneaky clean efficiency while shooting a good EFG (54) from 18.5 usage. Good Defense too. Love it.

Robert Parish

102

I like Robert Parish here. His poor defense (49) hides nicely behind Dwight Howard. What if your opponent has a good PF and C scoring combo?

Clyde Drexler

157

Clyde fills a nice backup role behind Manu. Really good EFG and nice Rebounding and Assists from him.

Boban Marjanovic

158

I am not sure he is draft worthy in the 52, but Boban provides high quality low minutes to throw into the frontcourt.

5)dakjd901: Overall it looks like about 105 - 110 Usage% on the floor most of the time, Weighted EFG of about 59%, OReb roughly 29%, DReb roughly 87%, Ast roughly 94%, 68 weighted avg team defense, To’s are below average, and Fouls are ok. The biggest concern is what happens to your usage when Giannis goes to the bench, and the other concern is the Rebounding, especially ORebounding, but with this EFG maybe you won’t need to worry about it. I think you have a good fit with Deron Williams, Haliburton, and Giannis. Overall good draft. I am giving you a chewy score of 70.

Giannis ANtetokounmpo

5

Minute for minute best quality player in the sim. EFG, Def, Usage, pretty efficient. Rebounding, Assists are all amazing.

Tyson Chandler

44

Nice fit with Giannis. The usage pairs nicely. THe Rebounding is just ok but the 100 Defense is sweet.

Tyrese Haliburton

49

Haliburton keeps moving up draft boards and we know why. Great EFG from 18.9 usage and good assists. Good Defense too.

Deron Williams

92

Deron Williams provides a lot of assists from the PG position with a good EFG and USage too. The Defense is good.

Mason Plumlee

155

Plumlee will be a backup PF/C backup and provides nice REB / Ast %'s. His poor defense can hide behind Chandler or Giannis.

Joe Ingles

156

Joe Ingles shoots 3's. Elite EFG, guards 4 positions, and is fairly clean. He needs to hide defensively.

Wendell Carter

168

Wendell Carter I guess is the Giannis backup? That 20.9 usage will not cut it. I might be wrong, but I predict the team usage penalty might hurt you as I think you can only get to 8 or 9 tier usage points when you need at least 10. This is discussed in detail on the Message boards and is explained much better than I can.

4)jackedjamie: Overall it looks like about 100 - 110 Usage% on the floor most of the time, Weighted EFG of about 58%, OReb roughly 36%, DReb roughly 103%, Ast roughly 75%, 65 weighted avg team defense, To’s are good, and Fouls are good. The two slight concerns are the overall defense, and the usage when Jokic is on the bench. Overall excellent draft. I am giving you a chewy score of 75.

Nikola Jokic

4

Aside from the Defense, Jokic is probably better than Giannis in the remaining categories. I love what Jokic brings. Elite EFG from 31.9 usage. Excellent way to start a draft.

Eric Bledsoe

45

You took Bledsoe 10-12 picks too soon, but you have a great team so the overall philosophy worked. Good EFG (54.8) from 22.9 usage while providing great defense (90).

Christian Wood

52

Wood is my favorite player in the SIM. 28.5 DReb from SF or SG! great EFG (57.6) from 23.3 usage and pretty clean too. Defense is below avg. but not terrible.

Joakim Noah

84

Trading 4/5 rd picks with you is my biggest regret. Joakim Noah is the exact player that I thought I could get much later so I traded down and you took him. So I was kicking myself. Noah provides Super elite def (100), great assists from a big man and rebounds are just ok. His defense should swap with Jokic depending on the matchup, a nice pairing.

Kenneth Faried

109

I like the Faried pick too. Great Rebounding if he is playing SF. Also great EFG from 18.8 usage.

Andrew Bynum

159

Bynum rebounds well, and gives you elite EFG. Defense is below par for the league.

Bogdan Bogdanovic

160

This must be the Serbian version of John Johnson. Nice name! He provides Great EFG and 3 pointers but doesn't do too much more.

3)PBandJ: Overall it looks like about 100 - 110 Usage% on the floor most of the time, Weighted EFG of about 54%, OReb roughly 33%, DReb roughly 95%, Ast roughly 73%, 78 weighted avg team defense, To’s are just below average, and Fouls are good. The only concern is could the EFG be better?. Overall decent draft. I am giving you a chewy score of 67.5.

Steph Curry

3

Excellent start! Steph takes care of 3 pointers, and Amazing EFG. Defense is ok, and the DReb and Assists are pretty good for the PG position.

Draymond Green

46

Nice follow pick. Great Defense from someone who can defend 3 maybe 4 positions with Good EFG , Rebounding, and great Assists from a non Guard.

Bill Russell

51

Bill Russell contributes mightily to Rebounding, and masterful defense. Just the obvious EFG (43.8) is the only weakness but at least it's only from a 14% usage rate.

Bobby Jones

94

Another 100 Defender guarding multiple positions. THe great EFG is offset slightly by just below average Rebounding.

Andrei Kirilenko

99

Another 100 Defender with multiple defensive options completes the defensive gauntlet teams will have to overcome. Below avg. EFG from 19.7 usage with minimal Rebounding and assists is still worth it.

Devin Booker

163

Another scoring option and probably Curry backup provides some effective minutes.

Dirk Nowitzki

164

Clean player that can still provide some offensive power with decent DReb and assist contributions. Just has poor defense.

2)gerryred: Overall it looks like about 100 - 105 Usage% on the floor most of the time, Weighted EFG of about 59%, OReb roughly 45%, DReb roughly 90%, Ast roughly 75%, 74 weighted avg team defense, To’s are pretty good, and Fouls are excellent. The only concern is will usage be enough to avoid any penalties? Otherwise, I believe this is the front runner for the best team favored to win it all. Overall excellent draft. I am giving you a chewy score of 78.5.

Wilt Chamberlain

2

Wilt gives you 48 minutes of 90 Defense, Elite EFG from 18.5 usage with elite foul cleanliness and just ok TO's. But you can live with it.

Julius Erving

47

A really nice player that will use his 100 defense to guard 3 or maybe 4 positions. Good EFG from 28.1 usage and pretty good Rebounding and assists.

Magic Johnson

50

Magical Assists and Rebounding, and petty good EFG from 24.8 usage. THe turnovers are a little high but worth it. Defense is just ok and can play 3 positions.

Jarrett Allen

95

Elite EFG from 18.1 usage with pretty good Rebounding and very clean TO's and fouls. Defense is below average and with Wilt only 90% effective at PF, might not be able to switch off.

Otto Porter

98

Fills some much needed 3's. Very Clean player and Great EFG.

Jakob Poeltl

165

Looks like a nice Poeltl/Allen PF combo but still wondering about how PF will be defended.

MArvin Williams

166

Also fills some much needed 3's and gives you some good defense and good REbounding from SF.

1)ronsouth1: Overall it looks like about 105 - 115 Usage% on the floor most of the time, Weighted EFG of about 55%, OReb roughly 34%, DReb roughly 93%, Ast roughly 64%, 81 weighted avg team defense, To’s are pretty good, and Fouls are ok. The only concerns are the Offensive Rebounding, and could the EFG be higher? The defense is amazing and will be difficult to score on this team. Overall pretty good draft. I am giving you a chewy score of 68.5.

LeBron James

1

He's the #1 pick for a reason. Can't start any better.

Dikembe Mutombo

48

Nice pairing with LeBron. Provides elite (100) defense and good rebounding.

Scottie Pippen

53

Nice pick with Scottie. He continues to fall in these draft leagues but I still consider him a 2nd round value.

Serge Ibaka

96

Good Defense, Great EFG and decent Rebounding from the PF position.

Jayson Tatum

97

Tatum's position eligibility is all over the place, but this version looks like he's playing SF. Good DRebounding, and just ok EFG. Potentially can guard 4 positions defensively.

Larry Sanders

101

This player has 1 really good season and you got it right! Awesome Defense, nice Rebounding and jsut below avg EFG.

Rodrigue Beaubois

167

Nice quality minutes player. With the usage and EFG, probably can backup LeBron.

Explain yourself...

1) Rudy Gobert - Great player, picked right about where he should go. Nothing to see here, just move along.

2) Bill Walton - My thinking here was to get a high usage, good eFG% point guard.....Dwyane Wade? I've never used him. His eFG% is too low. Great defense, good assist%, super high usage (too high for that eFG%?), maybe I should try something different.....oops, there he goes...Damian Lillard? Good usage, good eFG%, tons of threes, low to%....a sieve on defense...a sieve on defense...a sieve on defense...how about Luka Doncic? Do something different...really high usage...good eFG%...great rebounding from guard...weak defense...a lot of turnovers...Jrue Holiday? I really like him, but he isn't what I'm looking for...how about Bill Walton? Great backup for Rudy...I could have 48 minutes of solid D and great rebounding at center if I take Walton...he won't be there in the third round again...okay...I'll will kick the point guard decision down the road...Walton.

3) Klay Thompson - Okay, I need some usage, I need some good eFG%, I need some threes.....Klay Thompson fits the bill...he usually goes late second and here he is in the middle of the third...okay let's go with Klay.

4) Richaun Holmes - I still need a point guard...there's no one I that thrills me...maybe Terry Porter will slide to the fifth round (NO)...I guess it doen't matter which point guard I get at this point, they are all flawed...who's still here?...Richaun Holmes...good eFG%...good rebounding at SF...adequate defense...more assists than turnovers...this is where he should go...okay...Holmes it is.

5) Oscar Robertson - Should he be drafted? Where? When? It's funny that he is a good second round pick in Savage, but nobody wants him in the KFunk52 NCIH52 DH52 MidgeFunk52. Okay, I need someone to play point guard. Oscar gives me some scoring, above average rebounding for a point guard, good defense, flexibility, and at least some assists. Oh well...

6) Alvin Robertson - Should he be drafted? Where? When? My kicking the point guard can down the road led me to having a point guard who was low on the assist% coupled with a shooting guard who is also low on assist% and all of a sudden I needed a SF with good assist%. Okay, Alvin gives me 20.4% assist%. That will do it. What else does Alvin do? He plays defense...he's a 90 at PG, SG and SF, so if you have a PG, a SG or a SF who can shoot the ball he can cover you. I have a three headed defensive rotation at those positions with a 90, an 80, and a 70. It could be worse. His eFG% isn't good, but he will have the 4th highest usage on the floor so hopefully he won't kill me. As far as his turnovers...people don't like his 17.2 to%, but the fact is he made 212 turnovers and his A/T ration is 2.1, which is pretty good for a SF. On top of that, he made 246 steals...he has more steals than turnovers...that has to be a good thing, right? His rebounding is weak for SF, but when you include his assists and defense and steals he will be one of the players on this team leading it to a 72 chewy score...so there.

7) Jameer Nelson - I was totally going to take Domantas Sabonis here, but some son of a ***** grabbed him before I could he was already taken and I was at the doctor's office and just said screw it, give me Jameer. Yes, Oscar is still my point guard for 32 minutes per game. When Jameer is in the game providing usage, good eFG%, assists, hustle, attitude and manual dexterity (what? are you saying Jameer Nelson does not have manual dexterity?) Oscar will be out there next to him providing even more usage, eFG%, assists and manual dexterity.

Bonus Midge: Are people too hung up on to%? People are always saying Dwyane Wade is great, with his 11.6 to% and Stockton sucks because his to% is 22.4%. How about if Midge says this: Wade's to% is low because he is missing a lot of shots. The bottom line is that Stockton has an A/T ratio of 3.8 and Wade has an A/T ratio of 2.2 and on top of that Wade made more turnovers than Stockton. So you keep letting Stockton slide and Midge will gladly take Stockton with his third round pick. Midge out.
3/16/2023 4:53 PM
You can question Midge all you want because he makes mistakes, but you just questioned the draft strategy of seapilots. I'm not sure how I feel about that.

As far as pairing Lillard with Jordan...defense - check, rebounds - check, passing - check, scoring - out the wazoo, low to% - check, plenty of threes - check. It seems to me that if a team has one good defensive guard and another guard that hides behind the other guy...either Jordan or Lillard is going to be firing away at the guy that is supposed to be hiding.
3/16/2023 5:14 PM
Explain Myself
copernicus(chewy score 71.5) - Dennis Rodman, John Stockton, Shawn Kemp, Zach Lavine, Khris Middleton, Kevin Love, Alonzo Mourning

I feel like most of these picks were just about within 3 or 6 slots of ADP. I wanted McHale but he went a little earlier than I was expecting (Towns was also on the radar there) but the pick came down to Stockton or Bam and I have never used Stockton so wth? I actually had a trade out in the works where I would have sent Stockton out for a later 2nd rounder and better picks down the road but the guys I wanted were all scooped up right before the 2nd rd slot I was offered.

As soon I had Stockton and Rodman I knew I was going after Zach - I think everything else was chalky
