Is ABBABA tilting things too much for later picks in 22-23 draft? Seems like there is a lot of trade down demand

I forgot that was a thing. Idk draft is really strong top 5 or so. It might be bad for 6-12 but I do feel 1-5 needed that for balance.

In the 21-22 Draft it went ABBBBBBBBBBBBBB. And the 2nd pick still won. The top 5-10 guys just give such a big advantage in a single season league. It was supposed to be ABBBBB for this draft, but I didn't realize I made the mistake until after the lottery was run. Considering I got the 24th pick, I thought it would be too sleazy to change it at that point. We will see how this one goes and possibly change it for next season.

I hadn't decided between Luka or Embiid when dmcclane put the pick up for grabs, but the idea of a high pick in this draft was appealing so I threw my hat in the ring. When I got the call-up I figured that even though Embiid is a slightly better player in a vacuum, I liked what Luka brought at the guard position more. The extra 107 minutes is just a cherry on top.

There were some other really nice players available but those three (Jokic included, of course) were clearly a notch above in my opinion.

I don't have any regrets but there were still some really nice players on the board at my original slot of 19th and it's been a long wait already, so I don't feel like it was a huge steal or anything.

Congratulations to mptrey on winning the first BOWIS 55!

2122 was super top heavy and ABBBBBBBBBBBBBB made sense. This draft is a little less top heavy and I think ABBABA is the correct format for this draft pool.

Thanks fellas, feels good to get one early. I'm going to need that chip if I wanna be a contender at the end of this thing. My 45 team missed the playoffs and I'm not too enthused about my banned team's chances either.

Ragged you and Rob are all a good bit ahead of 4th.

This 22-23 draft is amazing. I’m not sure all teams will be able to get enough C and/or PF minutes. Getting real thin.

We will see after this season, but I think the back end of the draft is really going to struggle.

As this draft has moved along, I agree with ABBABB. With this player pool, I am scared to see what's left when my next pick comes up in nearly 60 picks. Being at the end of the first and also being at end of the double picks hurts. I think not having a double pick round would make some sense for this draft as well. I'm not at all complaining, just thinking it's worth a conversation for next season!

I strongly disagree. I think this is much flatter player pool. I think ABBABA is just on the edge, you could make a pretty good case for the B's although I think some of the B's might have mismanaged their drafts. I think I have a good case for no bias since I am directly in the middle.

We will have to see what the next player pool looks like to make a determination though... you can't set a single rule and decide it is fair in perpetuity though because the pool depth changes constantly.
