Stolen Moments may be my favorite Hiatt!! Certainly one of them! Can't believe I missed that one. And the debut Jackopierce has been one of my wife's (and daughters) favorites from the moment it came out. Hard to believe (for me) that it was 1990. man I'm old.............. The Jeff Healey Band release was i big one, for sure!! Sold well from my experience, too. There was an uptick in interest in blues acts around then. I think everybody was looking for an alternative to rap, except all the young kids, who wanted nothing but rap. And as we've all acknowledged, mainstream rock was (with some exceptions) kinda devoid of real originality and good musicality.

Back to music musing.......... T-Bone has done good stuff with about everybody!

So, I got lost somewheres during all your lists. Did you guys do mid 80's?? Like 1982 thru 4? Cause if so, we all (somehow) missed the great Canadian rock band Red Rider. They were great. Had a big hit sometime in there with "Lunatic Fringe", and another one or two if I remember right. Had to be about 1982 or 1983. Crazy ought to know this, eh?
"Lunatic Fringe" was a cool song but somehow I never much got into Red Rider, or Tom Cochrane (their singer who went on to a big solo career -- big here in Canada at least). Always thought of Cochrane as a cross between Tom Petty and Bryan Adams (which is to say, a poor man's Petty, or a rich man's Adams).

Lunatic Fringe is a great song. The rest of the album was nothing special. As far as Cochrane's solo stuff, the album with Life is a Highway is a great album.
One of my favorite concert stories was when I saw Jeff Healey at a small venue in San Francisco. As you may or may not know, Healey was blind. There was this young woman at the show who was sitting on her boyfriend's (I assume it was her boyfriend, I don't know that for sure) shoulders. Every time Healey would turn his head in her direction, she would lift up her blouse and show her breasts. I was laughing my *** off.
The Tom Cochrane album is Mad, Mad World. Great album all the way through

The Tom Cochrane CD in question is next year I think (1991). And I completely agree with Wylie. The hit song on that LP (Life is A Highway) is the worst song on the disc!

I saw them two years ago, a free outdoor concert next to Lake Ontario, a beautiful summer night. They're still good, but I guess not drawing the big crowds like they used to (couldn't have been more than 100 people there). Margo Timmins (lead singer) was struggling during the last song. She kept covering the mike and coughing, then singing, then covering the mike and coughing some more. Finally the song ends, she thanks the audience for coming out, starts to walk off stage, then comes back to the mike with a sheepish smile: "I think I swallowed a fly." The audience laughs. Good show.

i dont understand all the facets of the republican tax plan.....my concern is that will it cause budgets that will erase vital programs people depend upon and the removal of which would be a major take away against any gains from the tax bill.
i wonder how delayed the tax bill might be because of rand paul's injuries.
His neighbor tackled him because rand paul refuses to comb his hair.

also the tax cut will nuke the deficit by more then a trillion......so much depends upon the gamble of some form of trickle down economics which hasnt worked before...look what happened after bush 2 exploded the deficit......haven't we seen this song and dance before......it is like a sugar rush for a diabetic...quick high and later a crash..... whatever happened to fiscally responsible republicans like bill clinton and barrck obama who believed in deficit reduction.

Want a drum roll........... OK.
Hey, If I was Rand Paul, I wouldn't comb my neighbor's hair either.
