Not the best 1st period, but both goals were tough chances...that re-direct was incredible.  Both teams had sick energy for the whole period and speed abounded.  That save 7uongo made with the tip of his skate was about as close to a goal as you can get. 

Need a solid 2nd to get back in this.  Should be a good one.

Ha Ha .... zero hockey knowledge.  Shall I go back and requote the part where you said the hawks would win the west?  or how about how anyone who said the hawks would finish out of the top 3 don't know a lick about hockey?  

Couldn't have asked for a better 1st period of the series if you're the Canucks. They were physical, generated tons of chances, limited Chicago to one odd man rush and Luongo made that big save he hasn't in the last two playoffs. I am the first one to say that it's never over til it's over, but the Canucks may have won the Stanley Cup in that period. Why? Because if Luongo plays at his best, there isn't a better team in the league.

As for the Hawks, Ben Smith looks out of place on this stage, Troy Brouwer is definitely not 100% and the depth issue shows. With all the top guns for both teams scoreless, the 3rd and 4th lines are making the difference.

I don't think I said that, but if I did, it's far less stupid than your claim Toews isn't elite.  I asked a guy who runs a Hawks blog I regularly contribute to to ask some other guys who run other team's blogs their opinion about the matter.  Every one of them said no question he is elite and anyone who disagrees is a moron, a retard or a jealous hater.

1...I was wrong about the 6th or less assessment.  Who wins the conference is almost two months away, so I'll reserve comment on that until then.

I will................... BUT only if I see him step up in this series... ONE great year ('09-'10) does not make an elite player.  now's the time when the hawks need him most when they don't have leaders like buff and ladd to step up.
