Realistically, none of these games now matter. I just hope when it comes to playoff time, Gillis/Vigneault are smart enough to play the guy who gives them the best chance of winning. If that's Luongo, then great. But contract shouldn't matter. I trust Gillis' ego would be better served by winning a cup than trying to prove the Luongo contract was a good one.
Between the Luongo contract, the 2 year/20 mill offer to Sundin, and the fact that he inherited Kesler, Edler, and the Sedins (who he almost low-balled out of town), it kind of bothers me how it's now popular for the typical bandwagon flakey Canuck fan (99% of them) to view Gillis as some kind of genius.
