What caused Blake Griffin to beat up the towel boy?
1/26/2016 6:19 PM
Giant ego.   Supposedly they're pretty close.   Towel boy probably thought he could make a smartass remark to his boy, over a few beers, and the athlete's big ego got in the way.   TB thought they were still goofing and Griffin whacked him a couple of times before TB realized they were not.

11 Days to go in the regular season and I'm fighting for a wild card spot.

My DH just went down with a 13 day injury.

If I DL him does that mean he'll have to miss the entire wild card series?  Or can I take him off the DL and put him back on the playoff roster in the middle of that WC series, IF I make it?

You cannot add him once the series start.    And I think you only have 1 off day before the WC games start.  So........if you DL him, he's going to miss the 1st round.

Edit.   not the "playoffs" start, the "series" start.    You can add players between rounds.

I'm never sure what motivates people.   I didn't really get into the boycott things because it sounded like a bunch of little things rolled together to make one big thing.   And I'm never shocked with a 20ish athlete does something stupid.    Recalling my 20ish years, I seem to recall a lot of stupid.
are you implying the stupid has stopped now? Or just lessened?

Lessened.   I was just telling someone today that it's a constant battle for me to not say something stupid.    But, in my defense, I do far less stupid things.

Do you take any pleasure - like I do - when NE fans suffer a loss in any of their sports?
1/27/2016 2:53 PM
I ashamedly admit more than you can imagine.   Their fans are the worst, and I mean the worst, in pro sports.
1/27/2016 3:22 PM
would you be surprised that i agree with that sentiment?
1/28/2016 7:25 AM
Not really.   Most people do.    But, if you notice, I said pro sports.   College football fans might be worse.  At least in the SEC.    Mark Richt and Phil Fulmer were very successful SEC coaches that were fired/forced out.   Les Miles has been fighting the same fight.   These guys crank out 9-11 wins season after season, go to big bowls and contend for the National Championship.  Yet, after every loss, there's some sentiment from the fan base that it's time for a change.  What they don't think about is who will be the next coach and if that's an improvement.   TN has lived that life and I won't be surprised if GA is next.

For the older fans -  middle age and older - we remember when NE hockey, baseball, and football  fans certainly had many years where their teams made it deep in the playoffs and continued to choke year after year.

The older fans are enjoying the ride. I'll give them that.

For the younger fans in their 20's, all they know is winning.

Do you begrudge the older fans and the younger fans, or just the younger fans?

When pitchers aren't producing I usually reduce the pitch count, change their roles, and increase the pull count. That - for the most part seems effective.

What I am struggling with is the hitters. What adjustments do you make for hitters that have the ratings to produce but aren't producing? How long a time line is it for you where its no longer just a slump?

Who are the best fans in pro sports?

1/28/2016 3:36 PM
I don't begrudge any fan.   Good for them when they win.   The NE fans whine mightily when they lose as if their birthright is to win(applies to late 90s/early 2000 bandwagon Yankee fans too).   It's annoying.    And NE fans are HORRIBLE winners.   When the Sux won for the first time in a million years, Peter Gammons orgasmed himself when he was supposed to be reporting the game.   Sux fans who hadn't posted in year, or ever, took over the boards and Sux hats popped up everywhere.   Annoying as ****.

I move them around in the order.  Really doesn't do anything but give them less opportunities to **** me off.   For the most part, I don't adjust my line-up for 20 games or maybe even 40.   Then I might do it every day.

Joe Buck says STL Cardinal fans.   Joe Buck is an idiot.    I could probably dig around to find a CFB program that plays around .500 and still sells out.  I'm sure there are some and I think CFB fans are the best.   Although some cry like a ***** and demand change when they struggle.
