I think I've noticed a bit of an east coast vs. west coast or (perhaps) regional difference in our lists. I'm gonna make a guess. Dino....... you're from somewhere in the east....... likely northeast............. wylie is a westerner, most likely west coast. The lists reflect that IMO. Also, wylie and I seem to have very similar tastes. We could probably hang out and imbibe and swap music choices for hours.

I live in California now, but I grew up in New York. So you're partially right. And, I agree..we could have some fun and good conversations hanging out, Bob. Although I think I could do the same with Dino.

You always miss some it seems. I missed "Flyer" from Nancy Griffith, and "Brooklyn Side", though there are Bottle Rockets discs I listen to more, but not before 1994, lol.
I almost did put that Indigo Girls LP on my list, and The Pretenders CD should have at least been an honorable mention.
definitely better Bottle Rocket discs, but Brooklyn Side is still very good. My favorite Bottle Rocket disc ma be 24 Hours a Day, which I believe will be appearing on one of my lists quite soon.

That Collective Soul is a monster rock piece. Nearly every song just kills!!! It should be on everybody's list, likely.

the kindhearted republicans want to strip away the obamacare mandate because they want to help poor people...they want to " end the tax on poor people "...do they mean economically disadvantaged people or do they mean the whole of humanity in the united states that they step on all the time because they are better then " people "......they treat those with less moolah like penguins who would be better off if they were merely pointed in the right direction.....to the cliff...then a little nudge...and wallah......more food for them....by cutting off the mandate they will cause 13 million to have no insurance...they know that will happen....what a sick..sick...sick..sick country.

I refuse to talk about politics. I hated politics before Trump took office and I hate them even more now. Of course that shouldn't stop anyone else from talking about politics. Just don't expect a response from me.

there is an album by a group called rancid " and out came the wolves "........they try to emulate the clash's first album - most of the songs unforunately while having the spirit verge on hard core punk but there are a few that are very very spot on first clash album.

My 1995 list is not necessarily conclusive as I really didn't spend as much time looking thru CD's and LP's as I should have, so it may be amended.......but here goes: (some personal surprises)

1. Collective Soul --- "Collective Soul" (From a purely ROCK perspective I just had to put this at the top as I wasn't (at the time) and am not now a really big fan of the band---- BUT this LP just blew me away. Strong, strong rock songs, well done.....it's never quite loud enough!)
2. Tom Cochrane --- "Ragged *** Road" (The follow up to Mad, Mad, World is even better. Harder ricking, for the most part, and without the pop single success so it didn't sell as well, but trust me.....it's better!)
3. Emmylou Harris ---- "Wrecking Ball" (This is Emmylou's best non country release.........moody and cool, produced in New Orleans by Daniel Lanois with help from folks like Neil Young-one of her very best!)
4. Alannis Morrisette ---- "Jagged Little Pill" (Dripping in angst, once you get used to her wail, it'll grow on ya)
5. Peter Case ---- "Torn Again" (Love this one, Better than 6 pack of love, so had to include it. I listen to it more than 6 Pk, too)
6. John Prine --- "Lost Dogs & Mixed Blessings" (His 1st studio LP since "The Missing Years" and it's a killer!)
7. Steve Earle --- "Train A Comin'" (His best release since Copperhead Road.)
8. Van Morrison --- "Days Like This" (Underrated effort and he finally takes on topics OTHER than spirituality!)
9. Kevin Welch --- "Life Down Here On Earth" (His finest effort to date and his strongest set of songs)
10. Oasis --- "(What's The Story), Morning Glory" (Inspired a bunch of other artists/writers)

Honorable Mentions:
Jewel's debut, Natalie Merchant's "Tiger Lily", is very good, Colin James "Bad Habits" was (perhaps) the blues surprise of the year and (finally)
Neil Young's "Mirror Ball" continued his real strong string of releases in the mid 90's.

for the genre that it is in ..i recognize that the steve earl album is superlative.

It's a fun listen. I think we'll find 1996 to be an easier year to find great LP's. 1995 I found to be kinda weak, especially when compared to 1994.
