There is plenty of time for me to work myself down the list.

The absolute highest anyone predicted me to finish was 22nd. Of course, that might have something to do with there being 20 owners in the league that likely didn't know I was in it, but 22nd as the most optimistic finish.

I didn't see anyone do 1-24 rankings besides dh555 but I saw people ranking the top 10. I must have missed something in the thread. Definitely take it personal. You are proving them all wrong so far.

OK, not exactly an actual ranking but, with "Tier Three" being the bottom and there being 3 teams in that tier, I consider that 22nd at best as well.
I will make stuff up if I have to.

Tier Three: I don't expect teams in this tier to make it into the playoffs in any league at all. I feel that even in the typical competitive league congestion of the middle, they will be noticeably behind everyone. Note that I might not put any teams in this tier at all, as I haven't sat down and really evaluated them on any kind of level yet, but could put as many as six. *I ended up putting three here, mainly because I think they just messed up one or two aspects of the draft too much to make it to tier two, but let me be clear: they, too, could be caught up in the clog and might end up playoff teams despite everything I say.

Without further adieu:

Tier Three
20ks - Hakeem Olajuwon, Oscar Robertson, Paul George, Walt Bellamy, Reggie Miller, Anderson Varejao, Dave Cowens, Micheal Ray Richardson, Wesley Person, Khris Middleton, J.J. Redick, Bernard King

It really seemed like you were throwing **** at the wall, hoping some of it would stick. The first three picks were excellent, but it just kind of got real weird real fast with Bellamy & Reggie. I thought the Varejao & Person picks were excellent and were the types of guys you would want to surround Dream & either Big O or PG13 with, but it just seems like you took too many scorers and not enough rebounds at the 3 & the 4, and just not enough specialist type/role players anywhere.

Although, to be clear in this forum, there is no actual 'personal'.

After just a cursory look at the teams, I had you near the bottom also 20ks, but glad to see Hakeem and Oscar proving it wrong. I'm so used to evaluating players in a single league format, I have to re-learn who constitutes a "good pick" in this format.

I had Ash in my top 10 as well, but teams ranked 6 through 16 are all bunched together within one 5-game set of each other, so any one of them could make a breakout. 24k and Ash would be my picks to make a run. Jcred would be my dark horse.

bemused by the Pex quote: "I have to re-learn who constitutes a 'good pick' in this format"

If THAT is the case, and the guy is in the LEARNING PROCESS -

and hasn't really fully formed his education (still developing?) -

then we are all F'ED. ...(IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS)...... BIGTIME... geez

lol

Dominates regular season in Savage One - and is a runaway leader Season 2...
I'm fearing another: 'Secretariat in the Belmont'

at this point, metaphorically I'm one of those second tier Formula One teams,
celebrating being able to make a pass for 17th place...
While Lewis Hamilton piles up the championships

(apologies for obscure metaphors) lol

somehow managed my first 5-0
ALL 5 were Road wins...

not sure how that happened - but am sure that I have just jinxed myself to several losing days ahead - lol

This league really is savage. Some of the best owners on the site are in the bottom 3rd. I’m sure things will start shaking up soon.
9/7/2020 11:29 AM
appreciate the accolade cmac, but I came in 4th last season. One of the downsides to picking out of the top 10 is that when it comes playoff time and the best players minutes get stretched (to 48mpg in some cases)... the lesser 1st round picks can't compete with extended minutes of Lebron, Steph, etc. I expect dBKC and bds to do quite well in the playoffs. Luckily for us the best Lebron and Steph seasons ended up in the same world, so only one league is a lost cause for the rest of us.

I feel like this seems more bunched together so far than last year, even given we're only about 25% of the way through the season. A full third of the owners have either 50 or 51 wins, comprising places 6-13 in the standings.

There's a lot of absurd **** happening. I have guys shooting 5-10% below IRL with 60, 70, or even 80% ast on the floor and no possession penalties of any kind occurring against very little of what I would call elite defense. If that trend changes, you should see some upward movement. If it doesn't, well, the dishes are done, man.
