Only 78 openings!!! I may have jumped the gun!!!

I think there's really only one option to "fix" this.

ADMIN does another giveaway. But, before they do it, they announce in every public world forum that they will not do it again. Maybe even send sitemails to everyone in a public world. Make it perfectly clear that they will not bailout worlds again with giveaways.

As long as WIS promises that this is the last time it gives out freebies -- at least until the next time it is forced to do so -- we'll see the vacancy issue disappear, at least until the next time it appears.

And if that happens, we'll silence all the threads about what to do with all these openings, until the next time it appears we have too many openings, at which time we'll have a new batch of threads.

There will be crying no matter what edict is handed down from the powers that be. However, if we, as a group, KNOW there will be no more bailouts, I'm forced to believe people will abandon dying worlds. As I've said before, I wouldn't buy a team right now, nor would I abandon my world, because I'm positive another giveaway is on the way. Make me KNOW that the next one is the last one.

Or issue a statement that says another bailout ISN'T coming, and push the process up 3 months.

also, and I know that I'm a broken record with this one, DON'T ALLOW PRIVATE WORLDS TO GO PUBLIC!!!!!

Another full-scale giveaway would be irresponsible, but targeted discounts could prove beneficial. WiS should encourage long-term owners with only one team to take on another.

They already know how to play the game (presumably), and their first team should be in good enough shape that they could devote proper attention to a new team.

There are probably other customer demographics that could be persuaded to spend more money down the road, in exchange for short-term incentive.

That would be another one. Send a note to every commish of a private world and tell them that they will not be allowed to go public after their next rollover. If you want to do it, do it then or forget about it.

I would be all for this. Why wait the 3 months, give these leagues a time table either fill or we are shutting them down. Now mike you did say you would admit there is a problem when it reaches 100 opening and we are getting close to that number.

WifS has set a precedent. They will give away teams to fill leagues.

I still don't think there's a problem with WifS. I think there's an owner problem. Owners have allowed leagues to become so lopsided while building the teams they don't want to give up that their world is no longer marketable to the other members of WifS. They didn't have the foresight to recognized their rape and pillage tactics would kill their world.
