screwing power teams! Topic

So I noticed my Las Vegas team in Kaline was starting to suck since the update. I built my team around power.

Pre Update...45 Games-86 HRs

Post Update...28 Games-22 HRs

Went from 1.9 per game to 0.78 per game. This isnt the end of the Steroid era, this is 1911!

1911 was a good year.

I hope I can get through the weekend OK, with all the tears running down my face for swamphawk22.

if you cant win without hitting HRs you built a bad team.

How has your teams batting average been in those games? I am interested to see if those lost HR's turned into outs or hits.

They supposedly turn into hits but it would still be interesting to see if that's really the case.

After Update AB 968, Hits 221 Average .228

The reason this seems unfair is only players with high power ratings seem to be impacted. There should have been an across the board reduction in homers or only guys getting mega homers.

pretty small sample size so the average could be a slump (19 more hits would be .248) but it will be interesting to see what happens next season in some of the worlds getting ready to roll over or that have recently rolled over.

In my world there is a team, Vancouver, who has 3 of the top 6 HR leaders thruogh 31 games (still early in the season).

2 of these guys are big time power hitters, although Snyder is a little weak against righties. By the end of the season, some of these stats may work itself out, but in the early going it would seem these guys haven't been hurt too badly by the changes. 3 guys projected to go over 70 HRs

Swamp, all you need to do now is start your usual "realism" thread, arguing that the capping of HR's is good for HBD because it fits your idea of realism. That will put you on both sides of the argument at the same time, and for once maybe you will get someone to agree with you.

I see you still have your Swamp radar to find anytime I post.

I dont know what exactly to think about this, other than I got screwed. How can WIS radically change the way a game is played so certain players are far less valuable.

Get used to it...in fact, you should be used to it by now. Not only CAN they do it, it's exactly what they try to do when they make changes.

Remember the training bug? The one they denied existed for a long time? Once they actually figured out what was happening, they changed it. People signed players to contracts expecting the training bug to stay and ******* when it didn't. Sooner or later they'll fix SBs and people will ***** about how unfair that is too.

You can either adapt or get behind. Either way, ******** about it isn't going to get them to reverse it. They may tweak it some more in the future if they aren't happy with the results, but it's here to stay.
