I am looking to get into a new world. I know the best thing is to join a public one for a few seasons, and than try to join a private one. My question is...I am thinking of joining a world, but they have been open and unfilled since early October....that seems to be a bad sign. I see another world has just opened, but it has 11 openings....what is one to do?

I never asked you to do it...I was asking on information on the usual turn around time....since I am new to a league I am not sure how long it usually takes....

Just join a world and wait it out. If it's taking longer than you want, you can withdraw from the league and join another one without paying twice.

How do you know that's the best?

you could always sitemail one of the commishes of the private leagues looking for new coaches. I'm in Ripken, JR and zhawks (commish) has had a handful of inquiries, but a lot of conflicts w/ people joining leagues around the hollidays, and holding off for now. sitemail him or another commish looking for coaches and see if they'll let you in to their private league. Some will take newer coaches, some are more selective. We've taken on a few new coaches thru recommendations the last couple of season, but have also had to go public to fill the last 2 spots each of the last 2 years, so zhawks would probably be willing to let you join if I had to guess. Pretty solid, still young leauge w/ a good number of coaches that have a continous tenure there.

Check the classifieds. Lots of worlds looking for owners. Sitemail them and ask if you can join.

Or join a public world with a few openings and wait it out.

I wouldn't advise joining either of those worlds. The best thing you can do, IMO, is wait it out until a better league comes along. Taking your time to find the 'right' world is recommended, rather than just rushing into whatever worlds are open at the time of interest.

thanks Mike.....stiller, and taz. I was not sure if 11 openings or more is usual. I do not want to get into a world that is not that solid.

11 is a lot. Waiting since October is a long time.

You could have joined Snider that just filled. Too late now.
