I know this has probably been asked before, but a search didn't show anything.

check out the contract Tony Perez signed. Admin made changes to IFA demands, but a bug in the code allowed the owner to sign him to this ridiculous contract.

I was hellipissed because at the time I had more bonus money (about $31mil) available than anybody in the world. But I only had something like $3mil available in player so I couldn't put in the type of bid the other owner put in. They closed the loophole the day after that guy signed.

What's the problem with the Tony Perez Contract? Alrodis Chapman is going to get $5M per year in real life. Just because you transfered $22M out of player payroll instead of offering it in a contract doesn't mean it was a bug. And it doesn't mean they should have "fixed" it.

Another before the update signing: MoneyBags cost his team $144,000,000.

Wow, now that's an overpaid player.

I completely agree with this. Had you not transferred those $22 million, you would have been able to offer the same contract. I don't see what's so "ridiculous" about it.

In the Centerfield League, we had a guy sign for 41.1mil just the other day. He is a good prospect but not outstanding, but its been a quiet Int'l talent year so he made out.

Because I transfered the money and THEN they changed the logic so that you could offer up to $20mil SALARY plus whatever for bonus. I transfered it over to sign draft picks and IFAs because at the time I made the transfer, you could only offer $327k per season salary and an infinite bonus. After the transfer was already made, the rules changed.

The bug was that they only intended for you to be able to offer $5mil x 3 years. But instead, the other owner was allowed to offer $9mil x 5 years. That was more money than I had in prospect bonus.

The rules changed in mid season. I came prepared to offer big prospect bonus because that was how the game always had worked, but the change in mid season allowed another owner to trump my strategy just on lucky timing. If that IFA had showed up 2 weeks earlier or 5 days later, I would have signed him easily.

Well its not a bug. Its an owner not knowing how the system works. A bug implies that something that normally works, for some reason malfunctioned

that particularly disgusts me because mirky is a notorious tanker. i'm going to check the history in that league to see if he did the same thing there he did in ruth.
