Late comebacks kill me Topic

Is there anyway to stop these late game come backs? I just seem to lose quite a few games where I am leading at half and then have the other team have huge runs to end the game.

My Game

13:08 in the game and I am up by 18 - Lose by 1 at the end of the game.

This has happened to be a couple times not only on this team but my UW-Whitewater team. So you see anything I could change in the team settings?

Should I change to more uptempo at the end of the game? Since i turn the ball over more late than any other time it seems.

YOu ever tried a late - game zone? SPecifically, a late game 3 - 2 zone, set to a plus? often the comebacks are hitting a bunch of threes and that setting has often worked well for me, if I have the team IQ's for it, even if I run a different base defense.

Weird game- only thing i seen that stood out you turned the ball over 13 times in the 2nd half after playing a near flawless first half. Caseres was a turnover machine, Derek Lyons playing the 2 might cut down on that turnover problem but you are 14-3 so your doing something right so it might have been one of those blurb flukey games.

take a look at your late game settings and think about when and under what circumstances you really want to go big against threes

3s didn't hurt you, you just turned the ball over a ton in a stretch from 7 to 4 min to go and they went on a 10 point run.

Ya I am just wondering why I always seem to turn the ball over in the second half more? Is there a way to counter the auto-changes at half time the other player has?

The zone thought is a good idea, although I don't really give up the 3 ball at all, I am I think 11th in the nation in 3pt% against me with 26.7%. I think your guys thoughts on the turnovers is probably the biggest problem.

That sucks. You scored 6 points in the final 15 min. You did not get a single free throw attempt the whole game. That is stupid. I guess it can happen but that is bizarre... I would think you would get some free throws - almost seems like a strange simulation. I would have thought your low 3 point shot attempts would yeild going to the line. Perfect first half for you, perfect second half for him.

Normal tempo may help - at least it would have given you more shot attempts which may have given you more points. I don't think it would hurt the turnovers. I think the turnovers are a function of his fullcourt press.

I know A in the b is a hall of famer and I am a nobody, but you should not switch to zone IMO - some of your players are horrible at it. I have always been told go with zone or M2M - but not both. Waste of practice time and the player you recruit is different. Perhaps others think differently though.

I never even noticed I didn't even attempt a Free Throw, where is Colonels? He needs to get on this for me cause I am sending this game to CS to get an explanation of 0 Free Throw Attempts.

SOme zone in late game situations; Not switch to zone over all, yeah, switching to zone overall for him would be a bad thing, definitely. For some time in the last two minutes or so of the game, you can get away with somewhat lower IQ's on zone in exchange for other benefits.

Also, I don't think my number of posts or your number of posts is relevant one way or the other. I've had a combo of normal defenses along with zone in late game situations work well for me before. INdividual results may vary.

Ya a in the b, I think it would help for other teams but now that I look at it more, its my turnovers that suck, not my defense as much. Its not like I am giving up 10 points in a 2 min spot each game. Its just that I don't score is what happens.

I will keep the zone in mind though for my other team.

As for that. . .

WHy is Jerry Casares starting at SG? Low BH and passing, relatively, at a guard position, not that fast. .

I would think Wendloski and Tinsley, with Cloutier at SF would be better both from a rebounding and a turnover perspective.

Well a bad promise really lol, this is my first team ever in D2 and I had to recruit 6 players so I ended up taking the view that I would just start a rebuilding year but then I went 8-2 in non-conf.

I am actually +5 rebounding a game in a slowdown tempo so that is not as bad as the TO perspective.

By the way when do promises end for starts and such? Will I have to start him all 4 years? Or can I sit him next year if I choose?
1/9/2010 11:50 PM
Promises are for one year. You can even bench him for the tournament with very little risk
