Press was too strong in the old engine, and I think it's now tougher for bad teams to press and still OK for good teams to press. However, I'd like to see teams that have good ATH/SPD/DEF/STAM at the cost of REB, BH, etc. be able to press well - that is, teams like (real-life) Dayton that aren't top-notch on talent but have the specialized skills should still be able to run a convincing press.

I think it was abundantly clear that press was unreasonably strong in the old engine, and I do feel this fix has addressed that problem. I don't know if it's currently perfect, but I think it's about right. You can still be extremely successful with a press team, but it's no longer as simple as practicing the press and rolling the ball out there.

If they would fix the fouling problem, I'd be content with the new press

* I have played the first Season of the new Engine with the FCP on a DI & DII team. Due to these changes and the poor quality of recruits, I am leaning on switching the FCP form DI team. I will most likely wait to see the recruits for 4yrs first.

6.D - too many liabilities for only modest benefits...i'm switching.

Additional factors: The new emphasis on stamina in the press has also constricted the #'s of viable recruits, the ability to RS,  and the ability to go uptempo.

I think it's easier to run the press now than before, to be honest.  Before, you actually needed decent defense to be effective (as my horrible experiment with my D3 team will attest).  Now, you only need high stamina and high iq.  What's that mean?  That's right...6 seniors and 6 jr's.

I think what happens now is that the press need a lot better iq to make is usable. You need everyone to have b+ or higher really. Also when playing a team at the same level or better than you it is almost a lost cause and you will be fouling a lot. In the end though it still can get you 20+ wins a season but I doubt it's going to make you win any games you don't already dominate with and defensive type.
