Is this the end of HD? Topic

I'm not posting this to criticize, it's just an observation.  Has anybody else noticed the staggering number of coaches that have quit since the "new engine" was implemented?     Of the few people I have spoken to after the fact, they have all sited three things as their reason for leaving.  1. The new engine and how screwed up too many of the outcomes are (scores, free throws, home court advantage, fouls, etc.).  2. The dramatic reduction of decent recruits under the new engine.  And 3.  The sudden ability of absolutely terrible SIM teams to beat top notch teams way too often.

I wonder if it was unwise of WIS to make so many dramatic (and lightly tested) changes all at once, especially in a bad economy where people have to make tougher choices with their discretionary dollar.

I've see a lot of traditional powerhouse schools in big  time conferences that suddenly are SIM schools.

I just wonder how many more disertions WIS can take before we have to start worrying about the possible shutting down or reduction of worlds.

Anybody else notice the large number of agitated coaches calling it quits?

I see people having less schools but personally have not noticed it making the worlds more empty than they already are.

And then there were people who were out who came back.

So. . .

Personally i wouldn't mind condensing worlds and then starting a new one up. I would love to get a shot at a brand new world from scratch.

You had 2 shots just about 2 years ago.  Guess you just missed the boat since you've only been here a year and a half.

I've only noticed a reduction in human coaches because for many coaches, the past 2 seasons have been free (one from NCAA tourney and one from new engine release). This obviously attracts new coaches and new accounts for existing coaches, giving the appearance of less humans entering a new season. I know I have heard some hall-of-famers say they reduced the number of teams, but as for DIII Smith, it's essentially exactly the same as it was several seasons ago.

This gets suggested once every few months. And it is still the worst idea going, for more reasons than I care to get into after a night out.

It's a fun idea, but pretty pointless with the amount of vacancies in the already existing worlds.

It's way, way more than just pointless. It also happens to be the single best way to infuriate your long-time, paying customers.

Personally thinking of throwing in the towel myself. Between the engine not being settled and my ongoing hatred of baseline prestige, I'm pretty dissatisfied. Tired of working my rear off only to see people doing far less at the elites (or frankly to get an elite) and just riding that prestige for years.

There are many long-time coaches that I've played over the years that have expressed to me they're leaving.  There has always been turnover, but the feeling I'm getting is that it's different this time.

I personally like the new engine. I think as far as the low quality of recruits go, the potential improvement has also gone up. I am seeing Freshmen improve faster than before. I think you have to consider potential more with this new engine. But I like it. I just added a team in a 3rd world (not a 3rd world country) :)

Actually, the new engine was specifically designed with players improving more slowly than before. That's a fact. (And I'm 100% OK with this.)  And there are also way more low potentials, also a fact. (Both per seble.) The engine isn't bad (still 3-4 significant bugs to work out, but the other engine had at least as many), but the recruiting piece needs a good bit of work.
