The Build Your Own Progessive: Year 1

Want to get in on year one of a new progressive?  This unique progressive pits eras versus eras, teams versus teams as your build your own progressive team, advancing one year at a time.  The "Build Your Own" part: Take any historical team, that is your core.  We then have a league wide draft that is based on that team's W/L %.  Do you take a winner and add some key parts or try and turn a loser into a winner?

<400% = 8 picks
401-499% = 7 picks
500-599% = 6 picks
>600% = 5 picks

All 24 teams are ranked in order of lowest to highest winning percent, drafting like regular draft.  We do one draft before the first season to fill everyone's team.  Owners are drafting players who are not yet taken in their given year.  If you take the 1995 Padres you would have a core players of Padres, plus additional guys who are not part of anyone's core team in 1995.  If another team was the 1994 Braves and had Greg Maddux, the 1995 Padres would not be able to draft the 1995 Maddux.  There is only one instance of any given player. 

Every team progresses one year at a team.  There is a maximum of 7 player draft picks each year.  Rankings for next draft is the prior years standing at game 162.  Players have a unique life cycle as there are multiple teams from different eras.  Say one of the owners has the 1970 Orioles and they decide to cut Brooks Robinson, he goes back into the draft pool.  What ever team drafts him, he starts that year and has a new progression.  Say if a team is the 1968 Cardinals, they can draft Brooks Robinson and he is now progressing starting in 1968.

Years: 1885-2010 (probably don't want to take 2010)
Player occurences: One
Trades: 1 trade per year, has to be within $2 million in salary.  Only can trade one player, no two for fwos and you can't trade a $5 million player for a $2 million player.
Draft: No trading of draft slots or picking ahead, even if the team ahead of you can't take them.  Just stay in your slot.
Progression:1 year forward
Changing years: If you decide to change  franchises you would start out fresh, all players would go back into the draft pool.  You have to give one years notice.  If you want to change team is year 4 you have to annouce it prior to the year 3 draft.
