ANTI-TANKING RULES Topic

Has anyone been in a league where an owner has violated the agreed upon tanking rules and then refuses to leave?  Has WIS pulled somebody out in the past?

I'm in a world where a guy violated the rule, was ask to leave and wouldnt.  The comish contacted WIS and they pretty much ignored the ticket.  The world just went public yesterday, even though the open spots were filled, just being held open awaiting WIS to removed the violater.

Yes.   ea162 in MGraham.   It's a very difficult process.   You have to document everything along the way.   In short, send a sitemail before the season detailing the rules, a sitemail at the A/S break to anyone who might fall short and one as the season ends to confirm they did.   Send WifS a copy, in a ticket, each time and they'll reluctantly remove the offending owner.    As expected, they don't want to do it.   Either way, someone is unhappy.  And they have to make that person unhappy.

Cooperstown, season 14.

27 owners pulled their teams out of the world in a unified protest, leaving just the commish, the guy refusing to leave, and a few other owners (apparently too lazy to pull out) in a Mexican standoff.  WIS finally removed the tanker and the 27 owners returned.

WifS changed the rules in the middle of that season.   Prior to that, the commish could remove anyone for practically any reason.    As the season wound down, WifS made a change.   So, of course, there was no documentation to show the owner had been told to make an effort to win.

Tickets were sent in a long the way. CS has sat on the most recent ticket for over a week. And I asked for privacy to be extended and it didnt happen.

"Asked"?  It's a button, knee.  Same place to send invitations.

Yes I asked in my ticket since they were sitting on it and it became evident that we were going to wait for them to extend it. They told us it would all be resolved on the 14th. When I hadnt heard from them I asked them to extend everything so when ever it is that they want to decide... weather that be today or in a month since we have not heard any sort of update as to why we didnt hear on the 14th what was up.

Honestly the main thing is I just want an answer one way or another. So do several other owners who have asked to be removed from the league and no longer wish to play.

I remain unclear as to why you didn't extend privacy.

It's not up to WIS to extend anything.  It's the commish's job.

You gotta do SOMETHING to earn your $5!  :)

After 1 season, there are already problems?  The solution is to contract the world, and stop letting new one's start.
I don't think season 1 problems should surprise anyone.   You're bringing 32 new owners together.   All of them have an idea of how they want to play the game.   Sometimes it doesn't match up.   We've had half a dozen internet brawls in Steinbrenner.   And I expect a few more when deadline trading cranks up.

This world was pretty laid back all season, the teams that were on pace to not meet the floor were updated througout the season.
The guy who is booted had better players playing at all minor league levels then he did in the minors. He gutted his team down to around 30M and was able to boost his prospect budget from 18 to 30 before the season started. He continued to trade away most of his ML talent for young players through out the season. He was confornted early on about maybe bringing up enough talent to reach the 55 win floor and his response was "I'm not going to bring up any of my good young players until maybe late next season"..
