So, can we get an update on the 2008 situation? Before that draft year goes any further I'd like to know which player is off the board: Rivera or Pujols?

If it's Rivera, then we'd better start this baby over.

It looks like specsman stays in 2008(with Pujols)--Bigsteve got slotted in 1993.

It's Pujols...I ended taking over the '93 spot.

What's happening? I just went to the draft thread. The Round 3 results and the deadline posting have disappeared, and we still don't have the results posted for Round 4. I wish the commish would do a better job of communicating...

Yeah, me too.  That's why I didn't like this whole "fairness" model as it was called. I'd have much rather people just posted their picks in the forum.

We should really slow this down until guys like cholatse get caught up.  He's three picks behind now...by the time he gets here, he's gonna bail, and you'll never fill his spot.

He wont bail, he and 40wins have agreed to be the last 2 to send their picks.

Don't jump to any conclusions.  Cholatse might be purposely "passing" on picks to see if he can get a player with a later pick.

Ex.     If he wants to pick say a 2005 Jeter for his SS but would settle for 2002 Jeter if he couldn't get him, he could just keep passing on his 2002 choice until either the 2005 Jeter is chosen, or it becomes available to him (in which case he'd make his 2002 choice of whatever is available). 

Nothing in the rules says you have to pick your choices in order and its a viable strategy to let picks drop by (if you really don't like any players in that year) as long as your willing to let other players pick ahead of you while you wait it out.

As you say. All the more reason that we shouldn't be sitting around while Data keeps us uninformed. The draft should be ongoing. He's got some notion about fairness that is resulting in his being unfair to everyone else who's ready to go and ready to live with the consequences of a competitive draft.
