It's not often I can't discern which recruit is better, but here I am stumped.  I run motion/man and I seriously can not decide between the two.

EDIT: These are the projected final ratings for the recruits.
  Player A Player B
Ath 65 90
Spd 60 60
Reb 30 10
Def 70 100
SB 1 1
LP 90 50
Per 45 55
BH 65 50
P 65 35
Stm 75 95
WE 46 45

Potential is huge. Without it, who knows. Recruit A is the better rebounder/scorer. Recruit B is the better defender, athletic. It depends on what you need more, but also the potential is huge. If B can grow offensively to be compareable to A then its him. If A can become an even better rebounder/defender and improve some bh/passing its him.

I find it odd that all of their ratings are multiples of 5.

I should have made it clear because I think I'm the only one who does this: These are the projected final ratings for both recruits (hence the multiples of 5).  This is about where both recruits will end up.

Oh I project ratings for recruits too, they just don't all end up on the 5s ; )

A is more skilled (can rebound a bit, shoot, and pass) but B is a serious athletic lockdown defender, and has a huge stamina advantage. But the choice should really depend on the rest of your team and what it will look like a few seasons down the road. Will you run uptempo? Will you lack rebounding? Outside shooting? Defense? What will your projected lineup need more? SFs are good for this because you find a wide range of skillsets and you can use that flexibility to address weaknesses on your team.

B actually looks a lot like Greensboro's John Duplessis:

He shuts guys down at D3, and is pretty efficient.

In a vacuum though I'd probably take A.

I agree with narcotico that it'll end up depending on who else you put around this SF... but that's also why I'm almost positive I would take B. You can pair him with any other SF (as long as the other guy can rebound), and that versatility will make future recruiting a little easier for you. I think he'll also be an effective scorer, esp against opponents who don't come close to his ATH.

A is a very good all-around player, and if his REB was going to be a 50 instead of a 30, I might have favored him. But he's not going to be that much better a rebounder than B, and he's clearly a far inferior defender and 3-point shooter (plus much less stamina).

The 30 ath edge seriously outweighs A's LP edge, not to mention B has higher per.

I guess it's really a decision between an elite scorer and an elite defender.  At d2, player A will be unstoppable on the offensive end, especially if his LP ends up being high-high and getting to around 100.  But player B will also be able to score and will be an elite defender and shut down every opposing SF he faces.  I want to put on the effort this cycle and I've put effort on both guys and then removed it twice already.  Do you always take the offensive stud?  or when a special defender comes along, do you have to take him?

I often go for the special defender in M2M. In fact, ideally I like to always have 3 ace defenders - one at guard, one at SF, one big man. (Hopefully 1-2 of these guys also have a strong offensive game, but they don't all have to.) This lets me play matchups to make sure that I can guard the opponent's two best scoring options, regardless of what positions they play.

I personally like B better

Even though he's a defensive stud, player B is really the only one of the two with holes.  He can't rebound, and hes a bad passer.  The rebounding can be overlooked because he's such a great defender, he's going to turn over the ball and be a liability on offense because of it.  Player A on the other hand is a better scorer, is going to really make your down-low game polished in his senior year.  He wont turn the ball over and if he makes your rating of 70 defense, he's still going to be a good defender.

I'd say Player A because he gives you another scoring threat on offense, and is still a good defender.
