Some fun stats - averages have changed Topic

Here's some stats I put together for all of the plays from Rockne on 11/14.  I wanted to do all the plays across all the worlds, but my program kept running out of memory
I'll post up another set of statistics after tomorrow's games with the engine update.  I'm really interested to see the differences.

I'm a little suspect of these run avgs, but I couldn't find anything obviously wrong with the way I was generating the stats

Cool.  This is interesting stuff.  Interesting that the percent penalties increase as you move down divisions.  If that is consistent over more samples, it might validate an impact (minor) of formation practice time given more coaches at higher levels do formation practice

I haven't been able to get all the stats yet because of the new play by play summaries, but I did get this one.  I think this shows that the whole substitution thing is messed up.  Even the sims are averaging a way worse fatigue than before.  This is from Yost 11/17/10

No it really doesnt because even the Sim's percent penalties go up when you're going down divisions.

Can I ask where you are seeing the fatigue ratings? I thought they were in the PBP but I don't see anything there.

You have to click on the little green "OX" icon to the right of the "1st and 10".  They don't give actual ratings...I just assigned Green=5, Green/Yellow=4, Yellow=3, Yellow/Red=2 and Red=1

This is only for designed run plays (the ones that say rush middle, left, or right).  JConte wasn't kidding when he said the average would be 4 yards.  What I don't get is that the human talent is obviously better on average than the sim talent.  These run averages should not be equal between human and sim

You have got to be kidding me.  This actually proves that recruiting is meaningless now.  Sadly, since recruiting was the best part of this game, what is the point of playing. 

I have one full season left on my Bethune Cookman team.  I have RS Sr QB and 8 WRs.   I am going to throw on every play regardless of D&D just to see what happens.

yatzr, it would be very interesting to to the run average you just posted compared to the avg STR avg ELU avg SPD cores for human and sim for each division. I've got your paypal for that wonderful tool you wrote.

Wow, very interesting... GD has entered the time of the SIM... all great dynasties eventually fall I guess :(

I am in for $10 if you can analyze the core differentials of OL/DL and RBs.  Hell, maybe more than $10...

so, regardless of talent you will run for the same average as your opponent.  Why not spend all your recruting money on QBs and WRs and DBs and Ks (since the engine decides if you will make a kick before you actually try it!)?
