Anyone interested in an $47 or $52 mil 80s league? Topic

Hey with a lot of recent talk about the 80s being the best decade for the NBA, would anyone like to join in on an 80s league? Was thinking $47mil or maybe $52 mil to allow for some star firepower at multiple positions.

79-80 thru 88-89? or 80-81 thru 89-90 or what?

Yea that was my first thought fel, I think 79-80-88-89, right? Cause season starts in nov, that puts 79 as only being 2 months and the chunk of the season being in the 1980 year. I'm thinking $47 mil cap would be solid because the reason I want to do the 80s is there are soooo many stars to choose from but also a ton of great great role players to fill out the roster with. I don't want everyone having MAgic-MJ-Doc-Bird-HAkeem.  I think at $47 mil you could have 2 SUperstars or even 3 if you want to really go lean on the role players, and still fill out the rest of the roster with solid players.

I'm gonna start the theme up, no clones and no rookies $47 mil. I am currently in a league and there is some solid interest in there. Feel free to spread the word

Gerry!! What do you think about cap? $47 mil perfect right? $52 would allow for too many superstars on 1 squad, I think $42 mil is too short?

"I don't want everyone having MAgic-MJ-Doc-Bird-HAkeem."

you left out the one player who would prob be picked more then any of those players...but at least you cant use his most popular season.....put me down as a maybe...love the theme but not sure i can do it with so much time and money invested in bowis already

Question, if I throw a rough draft of my team together just to post up the theme, can I pull my team back out after others join to make changes to my squad? Or will that make the league disappear?

League #35972, I discarded a team I had set that was primed towards winning and went with my favs from the 80s instead. I couldn't resist, still should be good enough for an above .500 record but I'm looking fwd to running uptempo and letting the squad loose ala the 80s

Just entered a team.  Man, I loved the '80s.

I did pretty much the same as you, earlmantis... I started out with my 3 favorite players from the '80s, and realized I could only afford 2 of them but added 2 others that I really liked.  My bench is atrocious.  I tell ya, a $47 mil team looks a lot like a $42 mil team did about 4 years ago.
