I can't recall who ran this one but it has been a couple of years at least.  If the original owner prefers I don't run it, just lemme know.


The jist:

Choose 1 player- to be named here.  You can use any season of your player.  Your player should at least be on the court for every game, but you don't have to use a high-minute season and you don't have to start him.

You can fill the rest of your roster with anyone who has ever played alongside this player.  Plus-you can twist all the players (use any of their seasons).

So the object is not necessarily to choose an all time great, but someone who played alongside many great players.

Take Sheed for example.  His list includes:
Sabonis, Pippen, Kemp, Garnett, Ray, Pierce, Ben Wallace, Chauncey, Rondo, Tim Legler, Mark Price, Chris Webber, McDyess...  just to name a few. 
I think we should easily find 24 like him.

No WW.  No rookies.  No clones.  $54 mil cap.   You may consider 2010-2011 when choosing who played alongside your chosen player.

awesome theme idea....cant do it right now because of bowis, but would love to do this sometime after

the guy that did it did a bunch of themes at the same time and then fell off the face of the earth.  It was a $52M cap, but that was way too much (last salary structure) for the most part.

Well Shaq was a ridiculous choice... too many big starts to choose from.  I had to really dig in to find the role players I wanted.  Still tinkering with the line-up, but I figure I got a while to do so.

Shocked you didn't use a teammate of a player that may have a name like gnarls, Ash. 

and feel free to change if you want.  

The player we choose has to be on our roster, correct?  Even if we won't use him.

I was thinking about that too, sly.  I think I will lean toward the ability to use any season (even a very minor one) of your player.  This opens it up to even more usable choices.  But yes I would like to see the actual player on the team.

If it comes down to needing a couple of owners to take 2nd teams to get the thing rolling, I'll probably do that, badja.  But I had been thinking about necroing this league for a while and had already decided that if I did, I wanted to do one around Shaq.

There is also the question of verifying mid-season trades.   There was an issue last time of Shaq playing alongside S. Marion which he never did.  They were both employed by Phoenix in the same season of course but traded for one-another.  This could get complicated, so maybe we should allow anyone on the same team's roster of the same year to qualify.
