In this table, I've ordered the owners according to how close to the composite their picks were,  I squared the difference from their prediction to the composite, summed up the squares, divided by 16 and took the square root.

Here is a table (sorted by partenrship code) that shows each person's predictions, with their respective teams highlighted in blue.  The average column represents the "Average Rank" of their eight chosen teams.  If the partnership had a draft to distribute the teams, one might expect that each person would choose the teams he thought would perform better than average, thus I would expect to see an average below 8.5 in these cases.

Here is the same table, sorted by lowest average.  This means mpitt76 really liked the teams he is playing, as he has them ranked 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10 overall.  And similarly, his partner calhoop really doesn't like his teams.  Hmmm, I wonder how their team selection was determined.

It worked out well for beirnej and I.  He took the AL West (with his 2, 6 and 8 picks ), then I grabbed the NL East (with my 1, 3 and 6) picks.  We were then each left with the remaining division in the opposite league, so he got the NL West (with his 5,7 and 9 picks) and I got the AL East (with my 2, 4 and 8 picks)

F and A are the only partnerships where both got their #1s.   5 different owners got both 1 and 16.   For partnerships D, J and P, neither got their #1, oddly enough...though P did pretty good after that, with both getting 4 of their top 6.

wasn't much too it really...we just decided.  We met for a few beers at a place called Virgil's in Times Square, went over each of our rosters for about an hour and then split up...

I was on my way to see Furthur (Lesh and Weir).  I unfortunately mis-timed my state-of-consciousness alteration and you see what happened. 

Anyway, as anyone can tell by my owner rating, I am quite used to crappy teams.

not for nothing but the way to win is to do well on the crappy teams...  Anyone can put together a 95 win Yankees team, but the winner of the tournament is going to put together an 85 win Tigers team...
