20 GAME LOSERS league Topic

We did this league several years ago to some success.
In an effort to once again help these losers feel better about themselves we giving them another chance to go from losers to winners.

You will be given a five man rotation of 20 game losers. These must be your 5 SP throughout the season.
You will build the rest of your roster from teammates of those pitchers from the team/year they lost 20 games. (NO TWIST)
---You must use a least one teammate for each 20 loss guy.---

80 mil cap
40 games live
No WW
No AAA
No Trades
No DH
Stadium to be home of one of your 20 loss pitchers

*There are a few instances that there were two 20 loss guys on the same team/year. Please don't use the other guy as a teammate.*

How are they assigned?  Do they have to be used a certain amount?  Significant details missing here.

I have randomized the 5 man rotations. Numbered them 1-24. I will get the first group and jkorn will now get the second group.

I will post the rotations as they are given out. You must use the 5 pitchers as your 5 SP.

I'm not really at all comfortable with the fact that the possible rotations haven't been posted...

Not that I don't trust you, it just means we have to agree that they're reasonably even sight unseen.

The problem I see with the players assigned is that it is difficult to supplement them since they use up too much salary.   It might be better to allow twisting them or using 4 of the 5 as an option.

Interesting initial concept but like others said, alot of flaws in this and the possibilities not being posted first.  Maybe edit and organize the details better and there may be more interest?

I'm interested, but what makes me really suspicious is that he seems to be assigning them in order.  He made the groups.  And he knew he would have team #1.  I haven't looked, so I have no idea how #1 and #2 compare.  That just smells at least potentially fishy without more transparency.

I'll come in if the rules change as to allow each team owner to sub in 2 of the 5 SP's with two 20-game losers of his own ... A couple of my favorite pitchers from my youth had 20-game losing seasons ... (-;

This is how we did it before. The lists are completely random. It is a crap shoot.
I randomly grouped 24 rotations and then just randomly assigned numbers to the groups. I have/had no idea the stats of any of the pitchers only that they lost 20 games.

My rotation has 3 starters with ERA over 4.3 (including 2 well over 5.00). They take up 1300 innings and $27.7 mil in salary. That still leaves me enough to make a decent team. Please understand that I want a 5 man rotation so these guys have an almost zero chance of getting 20 losses again, due to less starts.

You may look at your stats and see that your guys and their teams sucked, but that is probably why they lost so many games in the first place. Everyone should be in a similar situation.
