The toughest conference in ALL of HD has made another coach go home weeping to his mommy.  We're looking for someone new, that thinks they are the king of this game. . . . .

Here's what you do.  Take over a team.  Win the division (NOT the conference), just the DIVISION and win $100.  all you have to do is beat 5 other teams and you get a $100 WIS gift card courtesy of me.

Official Rules:

  • Must coach the team for 5 seasons
  • Must not have more than 8 upperclassmen
  • Must not have more than 4 seniors
  • Must have SOS of 85 or better (assuming conf RPI of .5900 or better)
  • Cannot own another team in Wooden (honor system)
  • Must win the division outright (no ties allowed)
Bonus Prizes:
  • $13 gift card if you win the division (outright) in 3rd season
  • $13 gift card if you win the division (outright) in 4th season



DO NOT sign up without being invited for the challenge.  if you sign up for the team without getting a sitemail from MRPOLO09, you will not qualify for any prizes.

I'll do it.  Or fail to do it, more likely.  What's the school?  I coach Rochester in Knight.  I've never done anything but rebuilds; most recently took over Methodist in Tark following an 0-27 season.  I recruited this class in my first season; I feel like it was pretty solid for a region with several nearly-filled D3 conferences at a C- school.

BEST conference in all of HD, eh? 7 teams made the NT from Upstate this year, and despite having a #1, 2, 4, and 5 seed, a grand total of zero made the Elite 8.

Perhaps in next year's NT the best conference in all of HD will live up to all the hype. Until then, there are some who would say Upstate is a bit overrated, not unlike the Big East this year.

hey mrpolo, if you'd like to start a waiting list for when dahs fails, I'd like to go on it.  I don't have a ton of D III experience, but I've got a D II title and back-to-back championship game appearances in 2 worlds. I'm in the NAC in Allen learning to master D III, so in 5 seasons or so I ought to be good to go...

This Clarkson squad won't be starting from ashes will it? 

Hey dahs, what O and D you gonna run, and, if you aren't going to succeed by season 4, could you start the switch to M2M for me? Thanks

i hope he stays.  thats kinda the reason i put up the cash.  challenge a coach, but the theory is that if he plays with us for 5 seasons, he falls in love and stays

if he does jump ship, i'll let you know. 

we also have very low turnover, but if another team opens up i'll let you know

How am I supposed to live up to my motto that anything worth doing is worth doing for a profit if I never see these posts in time :(

we still had 7 teams make the NT.  and our RPI was good enough for the 2nd best EVER in all of HD

so we had a down year.  the season before we had 3 teams make the Elite 8, 2 teams make the Final Four, and we had the National Champ!  plus the Postseason Invite champ as well

Given that I've only got 5 years to build up to very good, I probably won't be trying to change the systems, whatever they are...

i think your conference is a success when you get picked on for getting 9 teams into the post season.  7 into the NT.  3 make the Sweet 16.  1 wins the PI.  and people are talking crap. . . . .

its official.  the Upstate has become the thing i loathe the most. . .  We've become the Yankees of HD. . . uggggghhhh
