Thanks for a great 7 years Topic

Everyone has been very patient during the past month or so of down time on GD -- it is appreciated.  As many of you know, I was hired by WIS over 7 years ago to design and build a college football dynasty game back when WIS was a small, privately owned company (we are now owned by FOX).  GD launched in August, 2004 and I have been the lead on it ever since through all the updates and changes.  I love working on GD implementing my ideas along with the many great ideas offered up by coaches in the game over the years.

It has been fun, but I have an opportunity to work with the founder of WIS to build another great company that is in the startup stages.  This is a great opportunity for me and so I have decided to leave WIS.  I have done my best to communicate the needs/wants of the GD community to make the transition to the next GD lead as easy as possible (please take it easy on him) -- it is not currently known who will be taking over otherwise I would let you know.  I will be around for the remainder of the week (WIS got more notice than you guys :))answering selected support tickets and I may even pop into the forums for a while....or perhaps I can start my own title run as a GD coach!

Thanks for a great 7+ years on the site!  I wish you guys all the best.

Overall I appreciated your efforts and your honesty.
I know there are a lot of people with peeves about your work and I too haven't agreed with everything you've done. But who the hell agrees with everything anyone does ?!
I wish you nothing but the best !

Please do try and start your own title run. If you look at this game from a customer's view, you may begin to see why we have been frustrated and complained so much.

I've been vocal with my lack of appreciation for the new version but that's only because I've spent years enjoying this game.  So thank you for that and best of luck with new venture.

Since you're leaving it's probably OK to go ahead and admit that booster gifts don't work

Thanks Joe... I think a most of us really like the concept and just felt the game wasn't yet finished... but I think when FOX bought WIS, the change really stifled the polishing of this game.  I could be wrong, but I don't think the latest update was really your vision of the game or an evolution of it.  It felt like corporate bosses coming in and saying "Hey, we want the game to do this"  and not taking "but it's not designed to do "this" yet, and in order to get it to do "this" properly, it's going to take a lot more time, money and programming"

In any event, congratulations on building something people wanted to buy in the first place!  Also, congratulations on your new business venture.  I'm going to assume it won't be in the arena of college football simulations?  (non compete clause?)  Most of us, I think, would be willing to give what y'all come up with a try.  You really did create a good game for us.

Thanks for the game!  Good luck with whatever you do next!
