Recruiting: Mass Phone Calls Topic

Is there any way within the recruiting system to send phone calls to everyone on your watch list, or some other large group of recruits? I usually like to send out a phone call to each player at the beginning of recruiting, but going through each player can take a while when you have a lot of players on your list.

not that I know

I'm working on a keystroke macro to try and do this. If I get it working, I will post on here.
I usually send out 100 single calls to the DII list just so I can get a feel for what is potentially getable by me.
Tedious going through it one by one!!

Its definitely tedious. If you do get a macro working I would be very interested. I am a software developer, so that kind of thing is right up my alley. I should probably just write one myself but I've never taken the time.

Actually I should be able to use Keyboard Maestro for my Mac, and create a macro that has the keystrokes needed to (once in the search results screen, or the summary screen) to select a player, change tab to recruit, select 1 call, submit it, close the player window, and then put the focus on the next player in the watch list.
I would then just hit the macro hot key once for each recruit, or bundle X nbr of macro's inside a master macro.

I'll have to wait for my next recruiting season in Knight to test this out, but it should work like that .... in theory!!

That would be the theory, but anyone who has ever programmed anything knows a theory usually isn't worth the paper you write it on. Good luck and let me know how it goes.

I would be quite interested in using this macro as well. Seems like this would be an easy feature for Seble to add in the next update though. Not sure why it hasn't been added already...

It would be nice to have a quick recruiting option on the recruit summary screen.  Just a couple dropdowns would be all that is required (one for the action you want to take, another for the # of times to take it).  So you could queue up all of those on your summary screen and then hit one master button at the bottom to submit all of the actions.

It'd be incredibly simple to design and program.

I was originally thinking of something just like that, with the addition of a check box for each player on your list. Then you could check the players you want in the mass action, select the action, and then the number of times. Seems simple enough.

you mean 5 mouse clicks and 2 cursor positions per recruit is tedious??

More tedious than just 1 or 2 clicks per recruit on one screen?  Yes, it's pretty obvious.

Especially for people on a mobile browser that aren't browsing on WIFI.  All of those page loads are time consuming.

It's not a game changing fix, but it's something incredibly simple to program that would be convenient for a lot of coaches.  Don't see a downside.

Someone had done this for GD where there's a lot more guys to recruit, might want to check the GD forums.

i guess you are saying that in programming often the best laid plans don't work out as intended - which would be true - but if thats what you are saying, you sure have a funny way of saying it! not worth the paper its written on... IMO, couldn't be further from the truth. a lot of programmers just dive right in and hack away. some plan it out and then begin cautiously. i think there is little question as to which is more effective - as a wise man once said, a week of coding can often save an hour of thought.
