So I am aware I shall get beat up here talking about "Leafs Nation" but admit it folks we are one of a hand full of faithful fans who deserve better considering our loyalty to our beloved team.

Having said that I was one of many who said give Brian Burke the 6 years he signed up for to turn this club around and at least compete for the playoffs and the Stanley cup. So far 0 for 4 and we are on the outside looking in with 38-ish games to go at the time of this post.

So as I watch my team get manhandled by a weaker, smaller and frustrated Canadians team.... I again asked myself with all the changes in the last 4 years why Ron Wilson is still the head coach???? The 1 of only 2 remaining constants over the last 4+ years!!!

It is now my opinion that if the Leafs miss the playoffs yet again I (life long devoted Leafs fan) will call for the firing of both Burke and Wilson at seasons end.

I love the sport of hockey and yes the Leafs but enough is enough Leafs fans....... enough is enough!

You should fire every one of your scouts.....Leafs won't get it done until they make some good/great draft choices.  Plus Wilson has got to go, Burke on the other hand should get his 6 years and see where the team is.

I agree if wilson goes then burke has another year and the scout thing is right on. If the Leafs miss the playoffs a good house cleaning may be in order!!!

Witness the turn around of both the Blues and the Sens.........Changing the coach often works.  Wilson is too used to losing, a new winning attitude needs to be input.  I used to be happy when the Canucks were a .500 team, but now we Canuck fans are ****** when we lose at home in o/t........losing is not an option.  Leafs need some winning attitude...........

Fire the coach and promote within.  I would of started over with the scouts awhile back.  The only way right now we might have any chance is through dealing and upgrading 1st line center and then dealing for a vet goalie such as Nabokov or etc.

I think you should upgrade through the draft.  The only way you get a number one center is trading your high draft picks or signing an UFA during the off-season.  Trading your high draft picks SHOULD NOT BE AN OPTION.  Canucks top 8 scorers are all Canuck draft picks (Burrows signed by Van as undrafted player).   Building your team from the draft is the best way...........Get some scouts.  Finding unsigned/undrafted players takes hard work from GOOD scouts.  Burrows and Chris Tanev in Vancouver are classic examples of good scouting, as neither player were drafted.

Actually, kuddos to you for starting the Leaf's own thread. something your "Leaf Nation" brethren should have done long ago instead of constantly jumping in on other team threads just to criticize those teams.

Thanks holer..... not my style to criticize other teams but I understand what your saying and I have seen that happen here before. Every fan is upbeat about there team. I like this years version of the Leafs... fast, hard hitting and overall playing some good hockey but its time for a change behind the bench.

It's the Leafs Nation that is at fault.  You've accepted mediocrity and are to blame.  You want change?  Stop going to the games.  Stop buying the apparel.  You can scream as long and as loud as you want, but as long as they keep making money hand over fist, then there is no pressure to change the status quo.  The Leafs are owned by a consortium who's purpose is to make money, not win hockey championships.  If you want them to listen, then let them hear you in their pocket books.  Otherwise, it will be the same old, same old while they continue to count their money.

Weren't the leafs sold a month or two ago?  Maybe new ownership will help.

bb_icetime ........ if we all thought that way every sports team on the planet at some point and time would face financial ruin because of the decisions they make. The missed penalty on Gilmour when Gretzky high stick-ed him is a good example of bad Karma in a playoff game that went against the Leafs! The Leafs were the better team hands down!!!

Yes a couple of months ago but it does not kick in till like June or July....something like that. The deal as to be ratified by the league. I hope a new attitude coming in will make some difference.

Leafs were best team in NHL in 1993.

Wilson fired, Carlyle is in.  Burke is on TV right now with Ron Maclean.  If the Leafs don't start winning soon, does Brian Burke get fired?  Will the new ownership of MLSE want to keep him around in any event?  Could this be the return of Pat Quinn as GM?

I thought you needed talent to win?
