April 24th Dev Post (Seble) (ON TOPIC) Topic

Coming soon: a new settings page that will allow you to set some preferences that will apply across all worlds. The first set will include:

- A setting to turn on/off the potential color-coding on the team profile page

- A setting to indicate whether to show overall rating as total (i.e. all ratings added up, which is the current) or to show a player role formula instead. If using player roles for overall rating, you'll be able to specify which role to use for each position.

Currently that's all that will be included, but I may add another item or two. If anyone has other ideas for this type of setting, let me know via support ticket or forums.

One thing that isnt cross world that i'd like to see is the use of player roles on the player ratings page (under rankings) when comparing to the top 25 players in conference/world ETC.

A preference i'd like is to be able to set for all worlds is some default search options.

Have freshman appear on your roster as soon as they commit to your school.  This would give you a lot more time to set your depth chart, practice minutes, and player distro before the first scrimmage.  Seems like every year I have to scramble to get all those things done in the few hours between when players show up and the scrimmage takes place.

Sign me up for saved searches. You can do it for baseball, it can't be hard to add.

I would also lime a "turned black from blue" note. Anything that causes me to write less down is a good thing imo. Maybe a player's note.page we can edit.

I like this idea! And it doesn't SEEM like it'd be terribly difficult to implement.

I agree,  Do this and it makes life easier for coaches

At the same time, expand the window for entering first cycle moves - allow them to be posted for say 3 or 6 hours before the cycle actually starts at 6 ET.  Would help level the playing field for folks who cant get on line in those first two hours.....because of jobs, life, spouse, kids, whatever

Yeah, it seems like there's SO much dead time before recruiting starts and then--BAM!!!--it's just a crazy day when it finally does!

Also possibly graduating the seniors and giving out the money at the same time as job applications start would be nice. That way you get a couple extra days to look at players. I don't see much of a point in keeping the seniors technically on the team until after job applications anyway so it would kill two birds with one stone.

What about if recruiting was part of the season, you know like real life, and that way it wasn't this whirlwind of every few hours activity?

Seems to me that everything that gets condensed into that could be spread out over the season, with actions run a couple of times per week maybe and then it could be done with realistic limits on home visits, campus visits, scouting/game visits (which obviously you aren't going to do every day during the season) phone calls per week, etc. Then recruiting takes just a few minutes per day (or as long as you want it to) rather than several increments in a day or two being so important. Seems like strategy would become more interesting then too.

I actually kinda like this idea, but if I were done this way then a team would basically be screwed for two years because they would have to recruit twice with basically no post season money, plus what if somebody picked up a team two weeks before the season starts then you'd be screwed even worse. And we're aware you already think it takes way to long to get a team playing right.

As much as I might like the idea of in-season recruiting, I think there would be some issues trying to navigate the EE's and transfers.  I might have 3 seniors and would recruit to fill those 3 spots, but could get thrown into a recruiting mess with a guy leaving early or a  player transferring.  Just some food for thought.
