Minor League Ball Parks Topic

New Britain has ML park -1 -1 -1 0 0, AAA -1 -2 -1 -2 -2, AA 0 0 0 0 0, HI 0 0 0 0 0, LO +2 +2 +1 +4 +3 and RK -2 -2 -2 -2 -2. Does this big difference mean anything or will a pitcher that does good in the LO ball park do better at AAA.

Park effects matter.   Theoretically, a pitcher will face more talented line-ups in AAA than LoA.    Hope that helps.

the park effects should simply give you a rough estimate of what is an "average" stat line amongst his peer group. In a +2 or +3 ballpark, a 4.50 ERA might not be so bad, in fact it might be the best pitcher on that squad.. In a -2 or -3 ballpark, a 4.50 ERA might be terrible, maybe it's the worst ERA on that squad. It's just a way for you as the user to make relative assessments to other players on that particular squad.

That being said, if you have a non-elite or non-first-round guy whose ERA is 2.50 in the lowA hitter's park, and you're thinking about sending him directly to the AAA pitcher's park, I imagine he would still probably get destroyed at first, because that's three entire levels of difference in terms of the lineups he's facing

I should then avoid sending players thru the Lo league because of the extreme difference

It gets better.   I figured I'd point the commish to this thread so he could keep an eye on it.    Well, SS is the commish.

Is there a category for the World Assessment called "Commish Creates Alias in order to Fill"?

Back on topic, kind of, for what it's worth.

I never realized this before, but the minor league ballparks for a particular city vary from world to world.

I looked at a common park in all three of my worlds, Syracuse.  At the major league level, it's the same in all three worlds (Mantle, MG and Coop) at (0,0,0,0,0), as one should expect.

But at the minor league levels, it's different for each world:

AAA - Mantle (1,0,1,-1, -2);    MG (2,3,2,3,4)    and Coop (2,2,2,0,1)
AA - Mantle (2,2,2,1,1);    MG (0,0,0,0,0)    and Coop (0,0,0,0,0)
HiA - Mantle (0,-1,0,-1,-1);    MG (-1,-1,-1,0,0)    and Coop (2,3,2,3,4)
LoA - Mantle (-1,-2,-1,-2,-2);    MG (-2,-2,-3,0,-1)    and Coop (-1,-2,-1,-2,-2)
RL - Mantle (-1,-2,-1,-2,-2);    MG (1,0,1,-1,-2)    and coop (0,0,0,0,1)

Wow, I never noticed that tec. Good eyes.

Isn't the bottom line simply "minor league stats are basically irrelevant"? Therefore worrying about parks would be equally irrelevant?

The only thing I could find useful about the ballpark effects of minor league teams would be the probable neccessity to add more pitching in extreme hitters parks.

Yeah, minor league stats are irrelevant.    Put a note in the guys you expect to be BL players one day and play them.   I couldn't tell you the minor league stats for any of my players.

I had a guy that accumulated 600+ minor league HRs. So I figured he deserved a chance in the Bigs as recognition for his phenominal minor league career.

He did OK over 2.5 seasons, OPS of  .707 while collecting 24 BL HRs in 533 ABs.

His family still sends me Christmas cards.

No I have the same issue my Low is +2 +3 +2 +2 +3 and the ML is 0 0 0 -1 -1
