I have questions? Topic

Does anybody care about Durability? Why is it even there? Has anyone ever had a player that got hurt for more than like 5 games?

Does anybody care about previous season stats when recruiting high school players? Why are they there?

Does anybody care about recruiting class rankings? what goes into recruiting class ranking?

Does anybody use Player Roles?

Does anybody change their players positions? Why would you?

Why is there a max records option? Why not just make it unlimited?

Does anybody care about favorite school?

there seems to be a lot of useless stuff in this game,,,

Yes, I have.

I use free throw shooting percentage.

Not really.

Yes.  Quite a bit.

Yes.  Quite a bit.  It helps me organize things.

Eh?

It SHOULD matter more.

I woudl not agree with player roles being useless, its a tool which helps me sort through my roster and figure out how I want to set things up.  Yes, I could do the same thing in excel, but its handy to have it in game.  THe same with changing player roster spots.

So I'm looking at the questions in the OP, answering them in my head.  I'm new but have read a lot here, which I figure basically still amounts to cluelessness.  Well, didja feel the earth tremble in its orbit just a bit?  There is an accomplished veteran answering the questions the same as I would have!  I'm not gonna pat myself on the back; I guess even a blind pig finds a truffle now and then.  Amazing.

In terms of things relevant to helping players at the game...

No I don't care about durability, no I really don't care about durability, and even though such injuries happen on occasion I still don't care about durability.

The only HS stat that matters is FT%.

If you even open up the email about recruiting rankings you're already doing something wrong.

I open it for pointless amusement.  Because I like comparing it to the internal rankings I have in my head and seeing how WAAAAAAAAY off it is.

High school GPA is helpful too, along with FT%. A high GPA along with a high Work Ethic help the player improve faster in IQ and Ratings.

I'm very fond of the player roles section myself.  It's one less tabbing out I have to do.  I wish gridiron and hardball would do the same.  As for the previous years stats, the gpa and the free throw percentage are really the only things I care about as well.

1.) Durability imo is a useless stat, i have never even looked at it when recruiting.
2.) Only thing for HS players worth a damn is GPA and FT
3.) Recruiting class rankings are crap
4.) Player Roles can be useful i suppose when looking at your current team.  I do set my roles up the same way that I recruit however,   It doesn't help me so much on the recruiting front b/c it doesn't calculate in potential.
5.) I have changed my players positions b/c it makes it easier/quicker for me to judge who i'm actually losing and where i need to focus my efforts.
6.) Not sure on max records?
7.) Favorite school is window dressing IMO.  It means very little.. if anything
8.) not a question but agreeing with the statement.. alot of "window dressing" in the game but I suppose its needed to fill pages and give it a more complete look

3) I like the rankings. I mean, they need to make mistakes. It's that way everywhere in basketball.

7) Favorite school needs to be taken care of.

Durability can go, it's worthless.

High School GPA also is a good indicator of how many SH minutes the player will need as a freshman.

I have many times changed a players position if I plan to RS him and I didnt noitify him.  If I recruit him a C then change him to PF and he sees hes buried behind 3 other PFs then hes more likely to accept the REDSHIRT

This is not true anymore. Redshirting is relative to the entire roster regardless of position.

I came upon that question when I saw my new recruit with 3 PE shot something like 46% from 3. I thought that it was all inaccurate. Is it a well known fact that free throws is accurate?
