I'm sure people have had better, but '09 Mike Adams just finished up a pretty great season closing games for me in a 120M league.

Not to mention a loss. Sometimes luck isn't on your side, even for a 98 game winner.

Not if players were on base when he came in for one of the blown saves, right?

Right.  A blown save can occur letting an inherited runner(s) score with no impact to your own ERA.

That's not possible.  He'd have to have given up more than 1 unearned run, wouldn't he?  If he blew 2 saves, that would require 2 runs.  Losing a game would require giving up at least 1 MORE run, either in one of the same games or a different game in which he came in with a tie score.

I don't recall seeing anything better, but given the 10s of thousands of sim league seasons, I'm sure there is a 50 ip season of some closer with a perfect record and a 0.00 era.

I recall several (actual many) years ago a posting by somebody letting us know his '67 Carlos made it through an entire season with a 0.00 ERA in the closer role. That made an impression on me, although I don't recall any other details regarding the feat other than it was a great season.
