LOL, I joined this league because I didn't get the guy I wanted last time because the guy before me picked a 3B, and now the first guy off the board is a 3B.

You're correct. Teammates must be from the same year.

ex, 1927 Ruth would get you 1927 Gehrig, and 1928 Ruth would get you 1928 Gehrig

That's correct. There are plenty of ways to succeed in this format, drafting low salary players and having the top pick each round is certainly one.
