Just trying to understand a battle I am in. I have an A+ prestige, my opponent is D+. I have a very slight preference advantage (both are very good for distance, I have a Good for Paint Offense where opponent should not have anything--those are the only two preferences the recruit has). We have both been on a recruit since the first cycle, although my opponent has likely been putting in more AP (I would guess about double what I have). 4th cycle, he went all in and moved me down to moderate. At that point I had only offered a scholarship, 5 HV, and my AP. 5th cycle I go all in: promises, 15 more HV, CV. Seeing the gross disparity between the A+ and D+ prestige, I figured this would knock him down to low, possibly very low. Alas, it only knocked him down to high. Assuming he has been maxing out AP since the first cycle, at most he could have 250 AP lead. Is 250 AP really worth 4 full letter grades? Is prestige really that meaningless in HD 3.0?

Putting in more effort into a player from when the two teams start should be a huge advantage.

Our efforts were in consecutive cycles, and from what I have read people are not sure considering credit is still a thing.

But if one put's in more effort from the start and you put in less would you say that is a advantage?

We have both put in the same effort with the exception of AP, which is at greatest a disparity of 250 in his favor.

that doesn't seem right at all, snafu!!

Snafu, it's anecdotal, but that's been my experience as well. Prestige seems to be greatly diminished at D1. If anyone has kept details on battles in Iba, with the % chance to win we could really get some clarity on this subject.

Right? If I were up against a B- or better I would expect it to remain close, but how is a D+ keeping up with an A+? How can 250 AP be worth that difference?

That's the kind of bullshet I've been arguing against that I am sure spud will come in to defend

I knew it was diminished by this just seems over the top.

And nooooooo wardo.., timing of effort alone is meaningless

You can't just knock people off anymore. Look at it this way, he is still more than twice as likely to sign with you even though he has put in more effort.

because there is a chance?

With the effort almost equal (the 250ap difference is nothing compared to the cumulative effort we have in), shouldn't a high A+ vs a struggling D+ be way more than 2x the chance to sign?

I am sure you think so :)
