Best DII recruit ever? Topic

Found a DII Juco in Iba that had an absolute shitton of potential. I brought him into Idaho State and he accepted a redshirt during recruiting:

100 ath
100 sp
32 REB
87 de
31 sb
48+ lp
81 per
85+ bh
60+ pa
85 sta
40 WE (nooooooooo)

If I get 35 Bh growth and 45 pa growth he may be up there for one of the best DII lacked (EDIT "lacked" should be labeled) players of all time. What are yours?

I literally have never once looked at a D2 prospect at a D1 school. Bold strategy that paid off!

I was looking at your recruits and mis-understood these are the "potentials". Thought those were his ratings when you signed him. Sorry, I was so confused. I am in need of recruits in IBA to make up for a dredful part one recruiting at Iowa.

It will be interesting to see if he can hit your projections. I am not sure that will be possible. he would have been a heck of a D2 player for sure, but I'm not sure how great of D1 guy he will be. Looks like he will be nice off the bench and provide some defense. Granted, I haven't played much D1 under the new system, so I realize my perceptions of D1 players might be skewed. Interesting idea to reach down to find him.

He will be pretty damn good in the press. The redshirt season will help a ton. I'll put 25 in conditioning 10 in FW 15 LP 15 Bh 15 pa at the start.

I also should land a DII Juco Big with 90 WE who could hit 90 ath 100 REB 90 De 90 SB 83 lp with his WE.

In DII, especially, one should really check it DII Jucos.

I hate the "Best D1/D2/D3 Players of All-Time" threads. It's virtually impossible to say who the best players were. Lostmyth, way back when, used to regularly recruit players in D2 who would crack 900 on overall ratings. I'd say one of those guys was probably the best, especially given that he got four years worth of playing time out of them.

Hate to be harsh, but these type of threads really seem like a "Look at me, look at me, look who I signed" kind of thing. There are very nice recruits, sure, but I'd be VERY surprised if they were the "best ever".

I know what you mean but this is DI...

Im not bragging at all, I think it's cool this guy has such crazy potentials for being projected DII.

Hes maybe a 60 percentile player on a 1R DI team, nothing special.

I was hoping for people to post players better than this guy who were labeled DII.

If you’re going to start him, he may get to red on a few of those, but with a starting work ethic of 40, your projections look aspirational, and unattainable.

Ismael Hudkins is probably the best guy I’ve found in the D2 pool in 3.0 so far, though I only ever scout a couple states per year with my one D2 team. He’s still green in ath, spd, def, LP, per and dur. Blue BH, started the season blue in passing and stamina, too. Just got his first orange in SB. everything else is black. He should make it to 800 OVR, a bit higher if his LP and per are on the very high side of green. He won’t be the “best ever”, and that’s not the point. There’s good stuff in the D2 pool.

This guy was a DII JUCO as well and didn't quite reach potentials, but was pretty damn good: https://www.whatifsports.com/hd/PlayerHistory/Ratings.aspx?&pid=3590659

If my memory is correct this guy was a D2 recruit. Hoops Dynasty – College Basketball Sim Games - Bobby Trower - Ratings - Phelan

In my school records he was 2nd in minutes, 6th in points, 1st in rebounds, 1st in blocks. Started every game.

He is my all time favorite recruit.

Cub, silly me, I thought D3 CMHMS had a chance of landing messerly and he would be the greatest D3 player ever. Til I saw how seriously you wanted him, I thought he was ours. D2 JUCOs man. My best ever would be Keith Wilson recruited to D2 wingate juco in Wooden. Need to find him. Dope center for my last 2 seasons there after a redshirt. I always love redshirting JUCOs
