1. soften the ball
2. widen the plate
3. lower the mound

the three true outcomes are boring

I was thinking:

1. Push all the fences back 10 feet, and maybe make them all 3 feet higher while you're at it.
2. Require 2 defenders on each side of the infield on every play.
3. Allow a maximum of 5 pitchers in a 9-inning game, with an exception for someone removed for injury.

Minimum distance required between homeplate and the fence should be 450 ft. Encourage doubles and triples cuz homeruns are ******* cancer.

If the NL adopts the DH, I walk away.

Who cares about pace of play? Not me. I prefer chess to checkers.

I don't enjoy this version of baseball nearly as much. Earl Weaver sure would have loved managing this style though!

Not really. Earl still emphasized plate discipline and good ABs. Hitters today just go up hacking.

I know some of you will say it is "softballish", but I've always been a proponent for equal-distance fields (same in center, right and left).
Even as a kid, when I was being taught to hit the ball up the middle, I remember asking "Why, it's the furthest part?". Let's get rid of the joke 310 foot homers down some of these foul lines and start rewarding 400 foot balls to center, by making things even.

Don't you dare legislate shifts. If these workout warriors can't hit 'em where they ain't, it's only common sense to put 'em where they hit 'em.
Since when do you change the rules anywhere to benefit a lack of ability?

Also love eliminating that garish body armor at the plate. The problem is, try telling the owners they can't protect their nine-figure investment at the plate.

#1 I'm not going to agree w/...but only because I think MLB may change the ball back to the less bouncy version at any given time, and then we would have a much more deadball-version.

#2 I completely agree with...because it would reward athleticism at all infield defensive positions, especially SS and 2B, and would give hitters a reason not to sell out for homers only.

#3 I don't know if I'd go that extreme, but I'd like to see fewer pitching changes because they really do kill the momentum, and maybe I'd give each team a set number of pitching changes (injury changes don't count) for the whole season. Say 700, which is still more than 4 a game...but it would truly require a manager and pitching coach to stick with a pitcher longer when it's not an obvious time to pull him. The number of maximum pitching changes could obviously be changed, but I think 700 was just a ballpark figure to start thinking about.

1.Is it the ball or the maple bats or a combo of both that are the reason for more HR? Lets go back to what we had.
2.Play your fielders wherever you want, if you have major leaguers who don't know how to hit to the opposite field or bunt to where there isn't anybody playing on the field then shame on them. Why is it ok to have half or three fourths of your guys in a lineup hit 30 HR and have a .220 batting average and then sit in the dugout and wonder why your team can't score enough runs to win?
3.Use as many pitchers as you want but change the number of warmup throws to 3 once they enter the game with the exception of an injury. These guys are major leaguers, they should be all warmed up and ready to pitch when they get the call to come into the game. If they aren't, then the manager F()cked up by not having them warm up sooner in the bullpen.

1.I'd like to see the umps stand directly centered behind homeplate so they aren't guessing on pitches that are outside. There is NO way they can see that pitch when they are standing directly behind the inside corner. Of all the games I watch, they get just as many wrong as they get right. Why is it ok to be 50% correct on pitches that are thrown on or just off the outside corner of the plate?
2.Umps need to call games fair for everyone. How often do I have to hear, "well he's a veteran so he's earned that pitch", or "he's consistantly thrown that pitch in the same spot so he's going to get that call"............ that's BS. Call it what it is regardless of who threw it or where it is thrown. Same goes for hitters.
3.Do something that actually evens out team salaries for all teams. The current luxury tax that big market teams have to abide by is a joke.

3 pitches isn’t nearly enough for pitchers to get used to the mound. Bullpen mounds and the game mound are very different. Sometimes they’re softer, sometimes the dirt is harder. Sometimes there holes where previous pitchers have landed. This is all for their safety. Don’t want your closer going in and hurting his ankle cuz his plant foot landed in a divot or something
