Legit Move or D!ck Move Topic

My open league team in the TOC has made it to the fourth round. The pitching is a little trashed but it made it. My opponent in the fourth round had his two 100m teams play each other in the third round. He had one of his teams throw the series. He started a $387k Walter Clarkson all three games & he benched his starters on the team.

If you had your opponent tank a TOC series. Would you think it was a
A: Legitimate move
B: D!ck move

Not angry but there is supposed to be some integrity. Especially when the guy is a HOF who has a lot of WIS credits already.

what would be funny is if he picked the wrong team

A.

It's not as if he asked to have his teams play each other.

I have no issue with it.

WIS could (and should, in my opinion) arrange it so that an owner doesn't have 2 teams in the same bracket. Until they do, this situation will occasionally arise. One of his teams was going to advance to play yours - how he gets there is up to him.

By the way, I was in a TOC a few months ago with thunder1008 where he had two teams facing off against each other. He's such a straight shooter he started his best players on both sides, despite several of us telling him to pick one team and let them breeze through. And he was rewarded with a TOC championship! I admire him for that ... but I would have done it differently, ha ha.

Throwing the series doesn't necessarily do much to rest the team that wins. You'd have to start scrubs for both teams.

How in the heck is it cheating? WIS has it set up so an owner can have two of his own teams play each other. He knows one isn't moving on, so why not make sure the one that advances is strong?

I submitted a ticket. Lets see what the commissioner says.

Ha ha ha. " Are you af..... to play him? "
It is a game. Get a life man.

Back to the point. I am surprised that so many HOF condone cheating.

Here are the WIS guidelines.

"Cheating

All owners must play by the rules and requirements set forth by each game on our site. If an owner discovers a loophole, a way to cheat, or any other method of giving himself an unfair advantage, WhatIfSports reserves the right to take the necessary steps to correct the issue at any time without prior notification. Refunds or roster changes will not be given to any owner in this situation."

"Intentionally throwing a game to ensure another team improves its chances in the standings or playoff seeding."

So it is OK if I send my top AAA players to another player in one league and he can do the same in another? How about trading 200k scrubs for AAA players? If I have a team already in the playoffs and I throw a series to help out another team to get in?

It is a game. That someone would be so childish as to feel a need to cheat is sad.
Why did you make a thread asking this question, if you already had your answer in your head? Did you just want confirmation?
