Returning to WIS?? Topic

If I apply for a team during the job application period, shouldn't I get to my team as soon as the application was accepted? Haven't played for 9 years but I think even a returning coach would get immediate access.
Am I right or wrong on this?
It appears to me that admin took the weekend off.
Smith World.

I think - if I remember you start at the beginning of the next season, which is something I wish they would fix.

That is probably correct. Admin hasn't responded, but it appears to me, if you get a job during the job application period you should get immediate access.
Reading the 3.0 thread, I interpret it as a coach would be able to recruit the 2nd recruiting period. They were happy to take my money.
Maybe I should stay retired. Looks like all of the World's have less players now they did 9 years ago. Looks like they are at about 25% capacity.

Did you apply, or did you reserve? If you applied (ie, submitted an application for a job others may have competed for, then waited for a number of hours to see if you got the job), my understanding is that you do get to recruit for RS2. This is always true for a coach who played the previous season. The basic concept is that RS1 and RS2 are both part of season A. If you paid for season A, you always get to participate in both recruiting sessions, even if for different teams. I *think* they also changed it so that it works this way for returning players to a world; but you have to go through the actual application process, not simply reserve a team.

However, I am not completely sure about how it works for returning players, because I don’t think I’ve done this in 3.0. I’m just going on what I think I recall from discussion on this issue ~3 years ago. The one time I’ve come back to a world I had dropped was with my other ID, which is now retired, and I think it was pre-3.0, so I can’t say for sure.

You'll get access to your Smith team at 5:00 am EST, unless there is a SIM delay. You'll see what Sim AI recruited for you at that time, and you'll play the entire first season without any of your recruits. The whole "number of open scholarships" thing when you reserve a team is misleading.

THX for the feedback.
i did apply during the Job Application period. I think there were some mix ups on WIS Admin. I can't get a response from them. The team still has a SimIA coach.
I applied Dec 21 and supposedly got the job. The team didn't show up on the available jobs after that.

The job application period in any given world begins six days prior to the beginning of the new season, and ends three days before the new season begins. In those three-day interim period between job apps and the new season is when RS2 recruiting occurs.

If you applied on Dec 21 (and had not owned a team for 9 years), you were reserving a team in Smith, and your status should show as "You have a team reserved".

Welcome back to HD, Spend the next few days reading 3.0 threads, focusing on scouting. You're going to refer to those again and again in the coming weeks.

Yes, the Smith job application period ran from Dec 26 through the 28th. Any time other than that, and you were reserving the team. You’ll pick up control on Jan 1st, and can start scouting fresh on the evening of Jan 2nd. If you would like some tips on how scouting will work, there are lots of folks who have good, efficient methods. Probably the worst thing you can do is jump in and start pressing buttons, easy to blow through your money and get very little useful information. Here’s how I do it.

The jobs process is definitely (IMO) the part of the current game most in need of attention. The process should be clearer, especially for players new to 3.0. It should also be faster and less expensive to get to D1, especially for players who have experience in other worlds.

I am pretty sure what you are saying is correct. I am thinking about adding a team in IBC, and it says New Coach Sign Up January 7, but Job Changes should happen a few days before that, so that is when I am going to do it if I decide to, so that I can recruit in the second session.

If you'll mention the team, or site mail it to me, I can check and see if it looks like it is available. I think you have it though.

i picked up a team in 3.0 and was able to do RS2. i picked them up during the jobs process for applications, not the 'new coach signup', nor reservation. i'm pretty sure as long as you compete for that job with other folks through the regular job application process, you get to recruit right away (for RS2 only, obviously).

Thanks for confirming. I’m pretty sure they made that change during or shortly after beta.

How did that occur? For Wooden, I was able to see "Reserve a team in this world" and figured I'd search through candidate teams the next day. The next day it said, "Wooden is not accepting any new coaches at this time" during the job application period. When that process and RS2 was complete, Wooden opened up to new coaches, where I was thankfully still able to grab my highly-sought-after D1 powerhouse team.

I was never given the opportunity to pick up a team during the jobs process. Granted, my previous Wooden team was 29 seasons prior, pre-3.0. A couple of weeks ago I reserved teams in Smith and Tark, and I have no access to RS2 in those worlds, where my last teams were pre-3.0. I assume I am unable to access RS2 because I only paid for the season that begins with RS1.

hmm, i had played my last season roughly the last season before the pause before 3.0. it might have been 1 season sooner, but it almost definitely wasn't after. so that lines up.

i basically was considering coming back, and i applied in the regular job application period for coaches who play in that world. it was actually the evening of the last day (i think there are 3 days?), i had been checking but apparently not well enough. uconn in tark was still open and with its legendary status, i figured i'd give it a whirl. i picked it up and got the job a few hours later, and almost immediately went into RS2, i'm 100% positive about all that because it was so recent.

why it didn't let you go in, i have no clue. i did cash out all my seasons and crap before i left, or maybe a year after, and i had picked up seasons so i could post a few months prior. so maybe it looked at me as recently active or something, i don't know. i assumed everyone could pick up before RS2, specifically because i asked about this before i signed up and got the answer that as long as i applied during regular jobs, i'd get to do RS2. thank god i did, dude before me had a bunch of EEs and it was 5 openings going into RS2, and some miracle flips let me get 3 player to get to 10, which let me immediately compete instead of having to undo a bunch of simai damage.

it sounds like you guys are getting locked out for some weird reason?
12/30/2019 8:30 PM
Meh. It's one season. I'm not worried about it. I probably would have screwed up RS2 anyway the first time around.
