I've never been good at estimating these things. Can/would anyone mind giving me a rough idea of where this guy would end up in each category after 4 years? With 5 greens and 2 blues I think he'd be a solid player (D2 school). But, as I said, I'm not good at estimating these things. Thanks.

You can approximate with 5 for yellow, 10 for black, 20 for blue and 30 for green. That’s a little on the conservative side overall, but it gives you a quick snapshot.

If you give him enough pt to raise his we a little, and optimize his development plan, he’ll get to:

Ath - 56-62
Speed - 48+
Reb - 81+
Def - 73+
SB - 56-60
LP - 87+
Per - 44+
BH - 26-39
Pass - 21-34
WE - 43-75
Sta - 80-93
Dur - 66-72
FT - D

I copy and pasted below the color changes found in the guide.

POTENTIAL INCREASES:

Green is High High (28+ Points)
Blue is High (20-27 Points)
Black is normal (8-19 points)
Yellow is High-Low (4-7 points)
Red is Low Low. (0-3 points)

Thanks for the input guys. So he'd probably be a 700+ overall guy by the end of his career. How good of a D2 (Triangle-Man/Press) PF/C would you see him turning into?

i think he looks pretty good to me for d2 when hes old. the key is going to be how well you handle player development - it makes a huge impact on how good of an end of year soph and jr he is. there's also a good bit of luck built in - perhaps hes 81 reb cap, perhaps hes 100.

a guy like this, its imperative you start him for fr/so years, get his WE up, and keep practice minutes focused on his key categories. if you don't, he may not be very good for you except for senior year, and that would be a shame.

He probably wouldn't play much the first year. Maybe 8-10 minutes a game. Ideally I would redshirt him to maximize his growth potential. But I don't know if he'll be down with that.

He's a bit low on Athleticism for a big for D2 and Athleticism/SP if you play him at SF, but nonetheless he's solid with a lot of potential.

Concur. He's a lil low on ATH. But if those PER/LP scoring categories grow a ton, he could still be a great scorer. It just depends on when the colors change blue.

A redshirt would be ideal. Even with low-ish ath, he’ll be very effective at D2 with A- and up IQ. He’ll have 3 seasons of that, plus full development if he takes the redshirt.

If he doesn’t take a redshirt, and you can’t get him many starts these first two seasons, he may be a slight disappointment, but still a useful guy on good D2 teams.

Now I just have to recruit him and hope he takes the redshirt.

Thanks guys.

Just to wrap this up, he didn't balk at the redshirt news during recruiting, and signed with me at the first opportunity. I'm very curious to see where his stats end up by year 5. Thanks again for the insight.

Good stuff, the community at work.

Can anyone link the browser extension that gives you the "max toggle" on recruits. I use that all the time to decide between recruits and get an idea of future ratings.

Surprised no one complained about a D- low potential free throw for a player whos best attribute will be his inside scoring. ug

Still a decent player, but he will have to shoot like 60% from the field to be efficient enough to play with the TO/FT problem...

The speed/sta is awesome though.... definitely bring him off the bench at the 4.

Try this link...
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/wis-plus/kgadjedbjdpnjngdapfhnmjkfieglbjp

It's an extension for chrome that gives you the option to see the recruit with max ratings. Hopefully that helps.

Also, thank you to the creator of extension. It's really great.
