This is where I will iron all all the details of "Juice's Single Season Puzzle Tournament"
With the blessing from thejuice6, I am going to try and continue his tradition of running multi-round multi-league tournaments, with a percentage of people advancing each round until the final round of just one league (24 teams). There will be a few differences.
1. The number of people advancing each round will always be 50%. And, it's always going to be 6 teams from each league's AL and 6 teams from each league's NL. So it doesn't matter if your league is easy or tough, exactly 50% will advance - the four playoff teams and the two teams with the next best record.
2. To enable more people to claim what might be considered the "better" teams in the first round,
when you sign up, you will only be able to select at most two teams. You may select an additional two teams 24+ hours after your previous post... and an additional two teams 24+ hours after that, etc. No longer will a person who signs up early be able to grab 10+ top teams (yes, I was certainly guilty of that in the recent tournaments).
3. There will be 4 rounds in this tournament. The first round will consist of 8 leagues, then 4 leagues, then 2 leagues, then the final league, where the prizes will be awarded. The themes for each round will be announced in advance. The themes for each round will actually be similar, but the player pool will be different.
4. In any round, you may have a maximum of two teams per league (one on each side of the league, i.e. AL & NL) - so the maximum teams you may play in round 1 is sixteen (one per franchise). The maximum number of teams you may have in round 2 is eight (one per franchise), etc.. If you happen to advance more teams than the maximum allowed in a round, then your lowest ranking team(s) is/are dropped and the owner with the next highest ranked team (in that league) would advance. This rule will keep more people advancing.

Round 1
Upon sign-up, you must pick a single season team. You will be able to roster exactly 5 players from this team (you can decide on those players later). Once 12 single-season teams from a single franchise are selected, that franchise is closed. There will be a 4-round draft for those 12 people to each select four more single-season teams from that same franchise. The draft order for both round 2 and round 3 will be based on lowest winning% of your round 1 team (if the win% is tied, the team that selected later will pick ahead of the team that was selected earlier). Then the draft orders for rounds 4-5 will snake (1-12, 12-1). Each single-season team can only be used once, so a total of 60 unique teams will be drafted among the 12 owners for each franchise. Your final roster must have exactly 5 players from each of those five single-season teams.
The franchises available for round 1 will be the 16 original franchises and the years to draft from are 1901-2023 (Yankees franchise = 1903-2023). The eight leagues will consist of 12 teams for each franchise (2 franchises per league), and be aligned as follows. The normal franchise rules are in effect (i.e., Browns/Orioles, Senators/Twins). If you are unsure of which teams belong to a franchise, see
this thread.
Clones: In the event you select two teams that are close in years, you are allowed to clone one (and only one) of your players. For example, if you select 1994 Braves and 1997 Braves, you can have both '94 and '97 Greg Maddux on your roster.
During the sign-up process, once you select your team, you are locked into that team. Please don't make changes after the fact.
