Open leagues only pay 2,000 points to veteran players

Themes pay 4,000 on average

Champs leagues pay 6,000

There aren't too many veterans who only play Open leagues. Most of us play themes and progressives.

Most participating in the forum play themes primarily.

Not sure how many you think are getting rich playing Open leagues. Just saying...

Yeah, I suppose the playing field was more level in pre-dynamic pricing days when every OL team had 08 Joss, 88 Milacki, 89 Hojo, 75 Carter, and all those switch-hitting speedsters. THAT WAS FUN!

I would love to see a level playing field. Players will still seek out bargains. Nothing wrong with that. Good for anyone who builds a better mousetrap.

Can't believe I just thumbs-up'd bagchucker.

Better mousetraps are fine, and kudos to those who for a period will figure out more legit ways of benefitting from them than others, although the hope is constant fluid rolling movement (dynamic) will keep a more level playing field continuous. As a not too long ago newb with growing pains who's battled and continues to learn (unfortunately, can't say the same about the 4 others I introduced to SLB at the same time I joined, nor other 1 or 2 and done newbs along the way), all-in on periodic price updates.

0 respect to padded W/L and titles and credits/points success by owners with their one trick pony copycat cookie-cutter team. My experience with them and a look-see of their playing history shows they're predominantly in one of two camps : never play themes or higher class competitive league's, or if they do, never have anywhere close to great success, some failing miserably. I'd suggest their constant accumulation of lower credits/points is worth it to them compared to the incentive of leagues with greater rewards that they never win.

This is my biggest beef and frustration with who I play with around here. Yay, you figured it out correctly. 1 time. It almost seems unfair and I wish this could be outlawed or monitored, but I spose their continued contribution of $12.95 or less to feel good about themselves goes a long way toward WIS bottom line compared to seeking and keeping new owners.

Dynamic pricing should help with some of this; keep everyone on their toes. I missed it's years ago first attempt for a brief period, so since it'll be new to me, am glad to see it in a think tank.

I play open leagues, and let me tell you, there's still plenty of Addie Joss. Faced a team in the season just completed that had an all-Addie Joss starting rotation.

This is a weird complaint. Even if you were somehow paranoid enough to believe everyone's feedback is part of a sinister plot to make sure the credits keep flowing, the only way the credits keep flowing is if leagues keep filling and new users keep signing up to replace those who inevitably leave the site. Which is presumably what everybody here wants.

Unless the complaint is just low-bottom hating on people who win a lot and largely don't have to pay. I'm not gonna defend the owners who run nearly identical cookie-cutter rosters over and over in open leagues, that's some dork behavior for sure, but that's not a large amount of people and such people are easily avoided through any number of theme leagues or progressive leagues.

Much easier to build a TOC winner in a theme league than an OL. The guys playing for free or making money on Amazon GCs aren’t playing OLs.

so okay. good point. post edited

but now

how do they keep the income coming in

these days

Open league teams with AAA compete with $90M theme leagues in TOC's, I do believe...the OL and progressive teams are handicapped against those $90M squads.
