GD 3.0 vs 4.0 Topic

I listened to TTAO podcast and it looks like the new administration is going to update GD soon. If I understand right they will continue to run the 3.0 version and offer 4.0. I know it’s early and lots of details to come but what is everyone thinking?

Honestly, I'm not sure. I guess I will have to wait and see what 4 is like.

The current version is 100% recruiting. Which is ok, but I would like a game that allows a team to win based upon game plan and/or specialization.

Division 3 is 100% recruiting. The higher levels game-plan, depth/formation management, and specialization most definitely have an effect on game outcomes. Especially in matchups between relatively evenly matched teams.

Getting back to the original post. I think Adam's goals are ambitious and would certainly move the game forward. Execution on those goals will depend on whether 4.0 is attractive to me.

I'll just have to wait and see. Are they trying to fix things that aren't broken? Are they trying to do too much? We'll see.

His goals should be readily available. That’s what’s wrong with this game now. Inform the paying customer, TTAO is great, but shouldn’t be required to listen to a podcast to find out information from one of the developers.
