I always run the private camp for 200. Every single time at D1 and D2. There is no cheaper, more efficient way to get the largest pool of players to L3\L4 (I much prefer L4). FSS next for the states within 500 miles first and then run assistant searches for the player type you need for only already scouted players. I start my assistant search at 300, then go to 400, then to 500. You may have enough money to FSS more states, assistant search, and repeat this outward scouting expansion multiple times depending on your division and scouting budget.
Yes, as Top points out, some are not even close to being worthy of being signed; However, I have found that I can scout SO much faster than using only FSS plus assistant search (no camp) and I would wager that I have the same players found without using the camp PLUS some potential diamonds in the rough because I have a larger pool of players scouted to level 3/4. Actually, using the camp, FSS, assistant scouting method almost always gets most of your pool to L4.
You can also get quite a deep pool of guards or bigs all to L4. I prefer to recruit in this manner and do it often. Yeah, I might miss a really good big if I am recruiting only guards but my needs that recruiting season simply don't fit and also most likely leads to recruiting for bigs only the following season. Give it a try, You will be glad you did.
